We are looking for a Director to handle a part of our Cloud/DevOps technology account consisting of more than 15 mid-cap US/EU clients generating annual revenue upwards of $3 million and growing.
You would be working directly (but remotely, at the moment) and advising multiple client partners with their technology and architecture involving AWS/GCP and DevOps. Since our clients are based in the US/EU, we are looking for fluent English speakers who are excellent communicators, to manage 5-6 clients and partner with them while providing guidance on their technical needs and queries.
This is a high growth 'leadership' position at Appman, which is a fully funded and fast growing organization with international clientele. There is opportunity to get absorbed into our client teams in the US/EU as it has happened with a few of our employees in the past; but we would expect you to complete at least one year with Appman before joining our clients in case you are willing. Our compensation is at par with the market and definitely there is no bar for the right candidate as we are growing year on year.

Vice President- Cloud Practice

As a Cloud Practice Head, you will play a Techno-Commercial role. You will nurture the Practice including COE and customer deliveries in DevOps environments.

Job Description:
• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects and developing a deep expertise in the AWS & GCP technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform

• Serve as a key technical member of the Business Development team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS & GCP platform

• Responsible for designing, building Cloud solutions and provide required support to Sales/Pre-Sales teams

• Provide leadership to manage service delivery across multiple business functions and projects encompassing design development maintenance and support of digital and traditional projects

• Independently handle Cloud and Infrastructure Delivery and Business Development across very large and multiple accounts or a region

• Manage key client and internal stakeholders for engagements. Understand expectations and facilitate business requirements status meetings and governance of engagement

• Responsible for leading a large team of technical delivery and operational support with high level of team motivation and employee satisfaction. Provide individual team and peer mentoring as appropriate and required to develop capabilities within team function and organization

• Nurture the Cloud practice & to be part in complete life cycle of service offerings like Pre-Sales /Transition/Service delivery till it reaches the matured level

• Study the existing Cloud Services like processes, best practices and standardize the service offerings, strengthen and improve the maturity levels and make a strong practice

• Give inputs to standardize the Sales kit for Cloud offerings (Proposals, PPTs, Templates) etc.

• Focus on continual improvement of Cloud service offerings. Work closely with Sales, Pre-sales, Transition, Service delivery teams and key functions like HR, Finance, and Training department and support them

• Configures, and administers cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and applications to meet the organizations requirements with a focus on Operations

• Assists and supports the design, deployment, management, and operation of scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in the cloud by working directly with the stakeholders

• Lead and perform the installation and configuration of cloud management applications

• Oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of our Cloud Operations to assure the security, reliability, and high availability of all our production environments and applications

• Drive the implementation of automated tools and technologies to enable efficient delivery, and service management of the production services

• Oversee existing data centers as well as the establishment of new ones as we continue to expand our infrastructure and the integration between physical and virtual locations (AWS, Azure and GCP) across the different geographical regions
• Working within a structured environment, including the use of structured methods and approaches and modern development tools.
• Experience of technical architecture – i.e. the design and delivery of IT systems for a broad range of clients
• Service support – the use of DevOps, Continuous Delivery and ITIL concepts to lead an effective support operation

Requirements:
• Minimum 15 years of experience of Software Engineering IT experience with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Amazon AWS, GCP

• Required knowledge in AWS Cloud with experience in EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, SNS, Lambda, Autoscaling, Kubernetes, Docker & IAM amongst others

• Hands-on experience of setting up environments in cloud with infra as code and devops as code

• Highly proficient understanding of AWS Cloud Platform, AWS service offerings, GCP, and Virtualization technologies: Server, Storage, Networking

• Highly proficient understanding in scripting languages, and software and infrastructure automation skills

• Strong understanding of security, risk and compliance frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability architectures, hardware, operating systems and networking connectivity

• Passion to drive organizational and technical operational excellence for commercial cloud-based products and services, ideally with a technology company

• Technical ability to problem solve with engineers and drive technical trade-offs and decisions

• Proficiency driving secure SDLC with Descopes practices and metrics

• Hands on development with infrastructure as code frameworks; Terraform and Serverless Framework a plus

• Ability to increase team performance with Agile SCRUM

• Experience implementing automation for cloud infrastructure observability, reliability, management, and FinOps

• Knowledge of information security compliance standards; SOC2, PCI a plus
