ദാരിദ്ര്യം ഒരു മനുഷ്യ സൃഷ്ടിയാണ്. ഇന്ന് ഈ ഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലാവർക്കും സുഭിക്ഷമായി കഴിയാനുള്ളതുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ, ഇവിടെയുള്ളത് മാനേജ്മെന്റ് പ്രശ്നമാണ്. ഇന്ന് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നോക്കിയാൽ ലോകത്തെതന്നെ തീറ്റി പോറ്റാനുള്ള വകയുണ്ട്, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ കഴിയും.

പക്ഷെ എന്തു കൊണ്ട് നമുക്കതിന് കഴിയുന്നില്ല? കാരണം, അധികാരത്തിനു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള നമ്മുടെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ മത്സരം! അവിടെ രാജ്യം വെറും ഒരു വേദി. ജനങ്ങൾ വെറും പാവകൾ. എല്ലാം രാഷ്ട്രീയക്കാർ നടത്തുന്ന മായാജാലം. അതിനുള്ള ഉത്തമ തെളിവുണ്ട്. നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികളോട് ഇന്നത്തെ പ്രശ്നം എന്താണെന്ന് ചോദിച്ചാൽ തങ്ങൾക്ക് പരസ്യമായി ചുംബിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല, ഇഷ്ടപെട്ട വസ്ത്രം ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ധരിക്കാൻ പറ്റുന്നില്ല എന്നൊക്കെയാകും പറയുക.
അതിനപ്പുറം ഈ ലോകത്ത് ഒരു പ്രശ്നമുണ്ടെന്ന് അവർ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നില്ല. നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികൾ അത് ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കാൻ ആർക്കോ താല്പര്യമുള്ളതുപോലെയും തോന്നുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ കുട്ടികളുടെ ചർച്ചാ വേദികളിൽ എന്താണ് അവർ ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നത്? ഈ ലോകത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന കുറച്ചുപേരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ ഈ ഭൂമി വാസയോഗ്യമായി നിലനിർത്താൻ!!

Love You Children Mission organises a one day workshop for children and young adults at various organisations and institutions including schools, colleges, children's clubs, cultural organisations, churches, etc. We address common behavioural issues in children and teach them the steps they can take to develop a healthy character and personality.

Little Sanjana is a self motivated learner. She enjoys attending classes and pays close attention to the teacher.

Yesterday I asked the students which alphabet makes a 'kuh' sound. The students immediately responded "The letter k!!!". I asked them "There's another alphabet that makes the same sound sometimes. Can you tell me which one it is?"

I thought I had thrown them a curveball. Sanjana immediately piped up "Ma'am c!"

I felt so proud of the little girl, not just because she had answered correctly, but because she had answered correctly without ever being told something like this. I felt proud because my children are now moving on to be insight learners and critical thinkers rather than just rote learners.

Little Simran is now 10 years old. Even as a toddler, she was one of the most serious children I had ever seen. I would see her tiny face with huge eyes staring at me unblinkingly as I taught the older students tenses. She would come up to me and ask me for classwork to do in her little notebook and diligently do whatever was assigned to her.

Now she is about to enter class 6. She shows a sense of duty and maturity far beyond her age. She enjoys helping younger students with their studies, conducts an evening study session for them by her own initiative and has a zero tolerance policy towards indiscipline of any kind (including offences such as forgetting their notebook at home, zoning out in class or even giggling without reasonable cause 😂).

We have a little teacher in the making. Even though she is obviously a little too strict, we can see that it comes from a burning desire to ensure the others learn what she is trying to teach. As she grows, she will learn to be more flexible and fun with her students but we hope her passion for imparting knowledge never changes.

One way for millions of underprivileged children in India to develop cognitively, socially, physically, and emotionally and reach their full potential is through access to formal education. The goal of LYCM is to help children finish school with the same level of respect and self-respect as they had before they started.

The cause of happiness is different for different people. I feel happy seeing the growth and development of the kids. Those who used to sit on my lap are now helping the mission, doing things creatively.

The first batch of Delhi kids has grown up now. Two have got married. Others are busily involved in studies.

Deepak, who used to be on my lap, now actively supports me. We came to know about the Vocational Training Centre at Najafgad, where skill development training is imparted to the young. We visited the Don Bosco Centre there. Now it is my mission to find ways to send interested kids there for vocational training. Moving forward with the utmost faith that things will work out well!

Balram finds it very difficult to attend online classes without getting distracted. Either he will talk of fight with others.

I told him if he sits in class without fighting with anyone and pays attention to what is being taught, he will get gifts.

It's like something just flipped in him and he tried his best to be respectful of others in the class. He even tried to pay attention to the lesson and answer my questions. Positive reinforcement over punishment any day!!!
