Indian Classic deep Red from Manjishtha roots with double bhatti.
A natural dye revival work in place of synthetic alizarin invented in the year 1869 which replaced the use of Indian madder (Manjishtha) roots to get the shades of red color in the 20th century in dyeing industry.
Double bhatti is a technique where a fabric or saree one time printed and two times dyed with alizarin or Indian madder (Manjishtha roots) to get the deeper shade of red in place of alum printing and lighter tone of red in the background.
This technique is almost forgotten and not in practice due to laborious process and costing. We revived this technique using manjishtha roots natural dye.
