Since then 11 May was declared as the National Technology Day by Hon'ble Ex Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji.

CST UP organised the final exhibition and prize distribution ceremony of CST UP Engineering Students Project Grant Scheme on 27/03/2024 under the able guidance of Shri Narendra Bhooshan IAS Principal Secretary Dept of Science and Technology UP. A total of 60 projects were selected from the 475 applications received. Each of the 60 sanctioned projects received a grant of Rs. 20000. Prize distribution ceremony was conducted after a through evaluation by the technical evaluation committee consisting of professors and eminent scientists from reputed Institutes. The first prize was Rs. 1 lakh, 2nd prize Rs. 75000, third prize Rs. 50000 and 4 consolation prizes of Rs. 5000 each.

The chief guest of the program, Shri Narendra Bhooshan, IAS, Director General, Council of Science and Technology, UP, addressed the students and highlighted the significant role of science and technology in the holistic development of the country and the state. He also shed light on vast possibilities in upcoming technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, block chain, quantum computing, and space science, stating that India has played a leading role on the global stage in technology and space over the past 10 years.

Inauguration of the Taj Science Festival, 2024, took place in the district of Agra. The Director of the Science and Technology Council of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. D.K. Srivastava, and the Deputy Director of Education, Dr. Indra Prakash Solanki, inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. The festival is being organized by the Regional Science and Technology Center in collaboration with the District Education and Training Institute, Agra, from February 18 to 27, 2024.

The program features the participation of Dr. D.K. Srivastava, Director of the Science and Technology Center in Lucknow, and Scientific Officer Sumit Kumar Srivastava. The festival showcased science, technology, innovations, and more through extensive and beautiful stalls in 2024. The exhibition highlighted the utility of machines in daily life, especially focusing on the functioning of machines and mechanisms sent from the Regional Science City in Lucknow.

Mr. Vikas Kumar, Education Officer of the Regional Science City in Lucknow, explained the practicality of machines and their models to the children. The exhibition also featured a display of remote sensing and application center equipment, including lidar survey vehicles sent from Lucknow. Dr. Sangharsh Rao and his team from the Remote Sensing and Application Center explained the instruments, cameras, and other devices related to lidar survey vehicles and new technologies.

The Atal Community Innovation Center from Meerut showcased various models related to innovation, such as seed sowing machines, machines for separating husk from rice, 3D printer utility, and various models created through CO2 laser, including a Ram Temple, bicycle-operated flour mill, automatic spider mimic robot, smart drone, enemy tank detection device, automatic dancing robot, and a long-range catapult.

In addition, puppet artists from Lucknow, such as Manmohan Lal Srivastava and his team, presented scientific concepts through puppetry. Mr. Ramanath Gautam, former principal of Rajkiya Inter College Shahganj Agra, also participated in the program.

The Taj Science Festival will witness the participation of winners of the National Science Model Competition, representing various districts such as Agra, Firozabad, Meerut, Mathura, Mainpuri, etc. Students from these districts showcased science models, scientific explanations of superstitions and miracles, origami, and various science experiments to the public, coordinated by the Regional Science and Technology Center, Agra.

Scientists from Agra Center, Dr. Devendra Shah, and Dr. Nikhil Jain, Coordinator of the District Science Club Agra, along with the program coordinator Dr. Vivek Sudarshan, displayed two highly modern telescopes in the field of astronomy. Students were highly enthusiastic to witness the telescopes, and Dr. Vivek Sudarshan and Dr. Devendra Shah educated them about the utility of telescopes in astronomy and shared the history of telescopes to spark curiosity among the children.

The Taj Science Festival, scheduled from February 18 to 27, 2024, will host various competitions at the junior and senior levels, including Science Model Competition, Science Cartoon Competition, Science Slogan Competition, Science Poster Competition, Science Quiz, Science Writing Competition, Aquatic Curiosity, Competition on life, animals, plants' specimens, and their life cycle, Science Newspaper Clippings Competition, Science Poetry Competition, Science Drama Competition, Astronomy Competition, and a competition showcasing images, sculptures, and models of renowned Indian scientists and their discoveries.

Dr. D.K. Srivastava extended best wishes for the successful organization of the entire council's programs and appealed to children to ignite the scientist within themselves.

DST UP has participated in IISF 2023 and demonstrated the capabilities of U.P. in the field of innovation, start ups, investments etc. Director General CSTUP, Shri Narendra Bhooshan represented U.P at the S&T Ministers' and Secretaries' Conclave and emphasized the leadership of U.P in the field of Science and Technology, innovation, starts ups, investments etc. Shri Narendra Bhooshan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Govt of U.P & Director General CST UP emphasized the requirement of funds from DST, Govt of U.P. for the development of Planetariums and Science Parks in each District of U.P. He also mentioned the urgent requirement for establishing IISc campus, IISER and NDRI in U.P to boost the scientific infrastructure in the state. This will also enhance the scientific temperament of the people of UP and stimulate the overall STI ecosystem in the state.

CST UP invites applications for CSTUP summer Research Fellowship Programme from M.Sc. students studying in U.P. The last date for applications is 31/01/2024. CST UP offers summer research fellowships for 2 months to M.Sc. students studying in U.P. to work with renowned scientists/Professors from premier institutes of India. Selected students are given a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000 for 2 months.
