Whoops! We took the "no working" thing too literal yesterday and didn't send out our Labor Day well-wishes. 😬

If you’re seeing this, we hope you had a wonderful day yesterday kicking back and taking it easy. You deserved it. 🌭🇺🇲😎🍹

Now back to reality and back to work. 🤣 The good news is there are only 4 more days until the weekend! 🙌

We love it when a surrogate we’ve worked with on our advocacy team comes back to work with us again…this time with our agency!

If you want to see what all the hype is all about, someone from our surrogacy advocacy team would love to chat with you. To connect, take this short quiz and then someone will reach out to you soon! surrogacy.is/life-changing-quiz

We’re celebrating again at our agency 🤗 You know what that means... Baby #5 has arrived! 🥳💜Baby is cozying up with her sweet parents and doing well. Baby has brought so many smiles and so much love already. 💗💗

Her rockstar surrogate, Stephanie has been relaxing and resting after delivery. We hope she's kicking her feet up and patting herself on the back for a job well done. She deserves it! 👏👏👏 Both families are so excited for this next chapter in their lives.

Stephanie first connected with SI in May, 2023. IPs started their journey AND they all officially matched in the same month of August, 2023! So their journey was a little over a year long (12 months, 4 days, to be exact). How amazing is that?! 🤯🥹🙌

Join us in sending love to Stephanie, the new parents, and Baby #5. We’re so glad to celebrate this magnificent milestone with all of you—and we can’t wait to hear updates!

Here at Surrogacy Is, we understand grief can feel isolating, but don’t forget you don’t have to go through this alone. It’s okay to not feel okay. And when you feel like you need someone to talk to, know there is a community behind you that knows what you are going through and can offer their support.

So to all those who are navigating through the ebbs and flows of grief, we see you. We’re here for you. Your feelings matter. Your stories matter. As a community, we can embrace the healing power of sharing and supporting one another—not only through the good times but through the times of sadness as well. 🫂

A failed transfer can bring up a lot of emotions. 🙁

We know everyone was super hopeful that everything would work out perfectly, and when it doesn’t it’s easy to start asking yourself what things could have been done differently that might have resulted in a better outcome. That’s fair.

But even when a transfer procedure goes absolutely perfect, there’s still only a 40-60% chance that it’ll be successful. A surrogate can do everything in her power to help. She can lay with her legs up in the air for an hour (we don’t recommend this, BTW) or eat a large McDonald’s fries 🍟 (we do recommend this, BTW) and for whatever reason it still just might not stick.

It’s no one’s fault. But if you do have concerns, it’s important to discuss them openly with your clinic, agency, and lawyer so they can help ease your concerns or let you know what your next options may look like.

Do surrogates get into surrogacy just for the money? No.
Can the compensation be a reason she decides to do it? ABSOLUTELY!

Most surrogates will tell you that after being a parent themselves, they knew they wanted to help someone experience that same love they feel for raising their child.

Most surrogates will also tell you that surrogacy compensation largely impacted their family's lives and helped them with goals they may not have been able to achieve otherwise. Like putting a down payment on a new house, starting a business, or paying off debt.

Both things can be true. And neither one takes away from the impact or importance of the other. 😁

Do you have any other surrogacy myths you’d like us to answer in future social posts? Let us know in the comments!

If going through pregnancy and labor wasn’t kind enough, some surrogates are even willing to pump for their surro-babe. (Some aren’t, and that’s okay too! 👌)

Establishing a pumping routine as a surrogate can look a little different than if you were a birthing mother—the biggest difference is that you don’t have a baby around to keep your body on schedule and to encourage milk production. In this post, we’re sharing our pro tips to help you prepare and create a pumping plan to make pumping postpartum as a surrogate easier.

Surro-sisters, do you have any pumping tips you like to share? Or have any questions about pumping? Drop everything in the comments and let’s chat!

When your best friend is hard on herself, you’re probably the first one to remind her of how amazing she is, right? You probably point out all the things she is doing well in her life and you’re quick to give her the love and encouragement she needs to feel better.

So let me ask you something… why is that so hard for us to do that for ourselves? 🤔

When you feel that negativity creeping in about the things you should have done better, take a moment and ask yourself, “What would I tell my best friend if she was in this same situation?”

Then treat yourself the same as you would your friend. Even if you don’t feel like it, you deserve the same kindness. And remember to give yourself grace because you are doing so much! 🫶

Today on National Rainbow Babies Day we celebrate all the precious miracles that blessed their families after a storm. 🌈👶

Rainbow babies are the babies that are born after a loss. For their families, they are the daily reminders of all the love and hope that came before them. Today we celebrate these precious rainbow babies but we also hold space and honor the sweet souls that were lost before.

We know for parents this day can be both joyous and sad. You can feel happy because of the baby snuggling up next to you, but it’s still heartbreaking to remember the one who could have been. That’s okay. 💔

Personally, we believe these babies’ spirits helped bring your rainbow baby to you and we hope that provides a little bit of comfort knowing these sweet angels are still very much a part of your loving family. 👼

Sending you all so much love today!

Did you know just like there are requirements to become a surrogate, there are requirements to become an intended parent too?

Many agencies will ask that intended parents have a relationship with a reputable fertility clinic and have undergone a criminal background and a financial, legal, and psychological consultation to confirm they are prepared for the unique processes and emotions of third-party family building. Just like surrogate screenings help give intended parents peace of mind about who they are working with, surrogates also appreciate the peace of mind they receive when agencies screen intended parents.

When working with a trustworthy agency, both sides can feel good going into their surrogacy journey.

If you’re an intended parent looking to start your journey, we’d love to chat about how our agency can help you. We provide a 90-day match guarantee and never require a deposit to work with us. We’re committed to helping you and your biggest dream come true. Start your journey today by visiting: surrogacy.is/for-intended-parents

Can you imagine having a consistent ache in your heart that feels like a hole just getting bigger and bigger the longer it’s unfilled? 💔

If you’ve never had to wish for a child of your own, it’s probably hard to imagine exactly how that might feel, but if you’re an intended parent you know that ache all too well. ❤️‍🩹

At Surrogacy Is, we know how big that ache can get with time. That’s why we want to help all intended parents on their journey to filling that missing portion of their heart—faster. In fact, we’re time-stamping it. Our team will work tirelessly to find you that perfect surrogate in 90 days… or less. Why? Because we believe every parent who yearns for a child of their own shouldn’t have to put a huge deposit down just to sit on a wait list for years. ⏳

Your heart is been through enough. We want you to become one of the many intended parents that gets to hold their new baby in their arms and say, “𝒯𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒’𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓅𝒾𝑒𝒸𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉’𝓈 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓂𝒾𝓈𝓈𝒾𝓃𝑔. 𝐹𝒾𝓃𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 𝓎𝑜𝓊’𝓇𝑒 𝒽𝑒𝓇𝑒”. 💝

This month’s staff superstar spotlight is… Dessiré, our wonderful and dedicated paralegal! ✨

Dessiré is a significant member of the Surrogacy Is team. When she’s not focused on reviewing contracts to help make sure surrogates are taken care of and all the promised benefits are accurately reflected, you might find her on a running trail training to add another half marathon to her record (she’s already completed three!), in the kitchen trying out a new recipe, or going on adventures with her husband, Matt and their lively two fur-babies. 🏃‍♀️🧑‍🍳🐕

One of Dessiré’s favorite parts of her job is seeing the baby photos after a journey is complete. It makes everything she does feel so rewarding!

Help us show Dessiré some love for everything she does for Surrogacy Is. Give this post a “🩷 “ of drop something sweet for her to read in the comments.

Those stinkin’ injectable hormones—they are every surrogate’s least favorite part of the journey. 💉

While you’re in that part of your med cal, it can feel like you’ll be on them forever but really it’s just 8-12 weeks. Which, yes, we know still feels like a long time 😂 BUT once you get through that stage it is such a badge of honor. You did this really hard thing. This thing that was not fun and something you probably dreaded every single time… but you did it! And you did for someone else.

That’s pretty incredible. YOU’RE 👏 PRETTY 👏INCREDIBLE 👏

So if you’re worried about having to take injectable hormones, don’t worry you got this. If you’re in the middle of taking them, keep up the great work, girlfriend. If you finished them, you’re an absolute rockstar!

You have the whole surrogacy community behind you cheering you on!

When you’re on the journey to parenthood as an intended parent it can sometimes make you feel pretty powerless. You have to give up so much control and so much is out of your hands. All you can do is hope for the best. But you do. You have so much hope. And there’s SO MUCH power in that.

𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓮 𝓹𝓸𝔀𝓮𝓻𝓯𝓾𝓵 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓷 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀.And when times get hard and you forget, remember you have a surrogacy community here that can help remind you of it. 🩷💚💜💙

Please send this post to a special intended parent and spread this reminder to them.

With more and more celebrities sharing their (incredible) surrogacy stories, a common misconception a lot of people have now is that you have to be rich and famous to pursue surrogacy.

Not gonna lie 😬 it helps. But it’s not just for them.

Surrogacy can be expensive. 💵 It might be easier for wealthy people to access the medical, legal, and travel resources that are involved but that doesn’t mean they haven't dealt with the same infertility struggles as other parents. Just like it doesn't mean that real, everyday parents aren’t pursuing surrogacy, too. Many of these parents are very mindful of managing their expenses to make it work and seek financial assistance if they can. There are also more and more organizations helping deserving parents with surrogacy expenses through amazing financial grants.

One of the ways our agency likes to make things more affordable for intended parents is by eliminating the deposit to start with us. We’ve heard of too many IPs being burned by putting down a deposit with other agencies only to spend years on a waitlist. We believe in treating IPs better than that.

If you’d like to hear more about how our agency can help IPs enjoy their journeys more, visit surrogacy.is/for-intended-parents

Breastfeeding is hard and can take a toll on your body. One minute you’ve grown two cup sizes because you're full of milk and then after a feeding, you feel completely deflated. But, no b**b shape or size is superior. This is true when you feel like comparing your chest to someone else’s or even when you compare your own chest to what it used to look like before kids.

Mama, don’t forget that the very same chest provided so much nourishment and comfort for your little one. No matter the shape or the size, you’re a hero in their eyes. 🫶

Motherhood. It’s chaotic. 🙃

Whether it’s feeling the pain-searing shock of stepping on a lone floor Lego or feeling like you’re on sensory overload because YouTube plays 24/7. It’s the never-ending runny noses and the never-ending calls for attention from your kiddo.

Even when you stop to think how that call evolves over time, going from "Ma-Ma" to "Mommy" to "MOM!" to "Uh, Bro" to "Hey, Mom"… it makes you realize how fast time really does fly.

In between those chaotic moments are moments that are so, so sweet. It’s easy to look at the day and hone in on all the annoying things that almost made you lose it, but don’t forget to cherish the things that tugged at your heart too. 🩷

09/08/2024

As parents, one of the biggest lessons we try to pass on to our little ones is how to treat others with kindness. We hope they learn to put themselves in others shoes and have compassion for that they are going through.

Imagine if instead of just saying these sentiments to your children, you were able to show them exactly what this could mean? 🤔

That was exactly one of the reason why Jennifer decided to become a surrogate, so she could show her children that if you have the ability to help someone, you should. 🫶

How often and how far should you expect to travel during your surrogacy journey? Well, that depends.

If your intended parents’ fertility clinic is out of state, you can expect at the very minimum to plan a trip out there twice. One for your medical screening and the other for your embryo transfer. There is a possibility that the fertility doctors would ask to see you more depending on how the medical screening goes and the clinic’s protocols. But the good news is that you’ll be reimbursed for these trips (and even given a meal allowance) so even though they involve some doctor visits, it can also feel like a fun little getaway from your normal routine.

For any bloodwork, ultrasounds, or prenatal appointments after transfer, you won't have to travel far, you can use your normal doctor or local fertility experts for these visits.

Are there any travel-related questions you have about surrogacy? Drop them in the comments below and our team can help answer them for you.

Jacqueline hosts the podcast, Motherhood Intended, where she shares her unique path to parenthood. In her episodes, she talks about her life-changing journey of becoming a mom and how the journey isn’t picture-perfect for everyone.

06/08/2024

Repeat after me… You. Got. This. Mama. 😮‍💨

Being a mom, there is a constant stream of worry and doubts racing through your mind... “Should I have let my baby cry it out tonight at bedtime?” …“Did I let them watch too much iPad?” …“Did they drink too much water at the pool today?”

Don’t let these thoughts overpower you. Like we said before, You Got This, Mama! You know, you know what’s best for your child. Trust yourself and breathe in that courage to tackle whatever new things come your way and exhale all the doubt that tries to trick you into thinking you don’t got this. You do. You Got This Mama (in case you needed one last reminder 😉)
