Dear Friends,

I make this address with pain in my heart to all of the wonderful people I know within WAKO, and to the thousands of Athletes and Coaches who, like me, are passionate about our beautiful sport: kickboxing.

It is not possible for me to imagine the 25th Edition of the Bestfighter Wako World Cup deprived of the champions from countries unable to participate because they are involved in a war.
It would not be the same, and it would be against the spirit of the tournament: friendship and brotherhood between athletes from all countries.

Even though, it is hard for me to make this decision because I cannot imagine cancelling the tournament, I must with greatest regret, inform you that, as Organizing Committee, after three meeting, WE DECIDED TO DELETE THE 2022 EDITION 😢 AND INSTEAD WILL BE SCHEDULING THE EVENT FOR 2023.

We, as humans, are showing the worst side of ourselves and waging war; I do not want to enter into the details of the geopolitical issues, but as a sportsman, I find I cannot remain indifferent.

The Bestfighter WAKO World Cup is synonymous with friendship and brotherhood between athletes and coaches from all of the different countries; it has in its core values to work side by side and get together the sportsmen of all ethnic groups. It is a tournament that in the last edition recorded the participation of almost three thousand athletes representing 43 nations from all over the World. It is a tournament that every year renews and realizes the truth of our community.

The Organizing Committee and I decided to postpone the Bestfighter Wako World Cup to 2023 because it is supposed to be the best edition ever held to date: the achievement of the 25th edition of the competition, and we wish to uphold that vision.

Personally and on behalf of the Bestfighter Promoting Committee and the Italian Kickboxing Federation, I WISH THAT ALL OUR FRIENDS FROM EASTER EUROPE FIND PEACE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ❤️❤️❤️

As a Coach I’m sure to be very lucky, in fact I train a special person like Davide Colla from when he was 8 years old till now 😊 Throughout my career I have prepared and trained many athletes who have become Continental and/or World Champions many times (from my Dojo Yama Arashi, 25 Wako European Title and 21 Wako World Title, and others from other country) like Emanuela Amisani, Dario Grasselli, Manuela Fugazza, Devid Pintore, Carmela Abbate, Serena Baio, Adriano Passaro or Davide Sfulcini but no champion has ever been so complete, so good, so unique like Davide Colla.
From the top of a superfine technical perfection, he has always shown the utmost respect for his opponents and referees, Federation and Spectators.
In my opinion, with his fights he has always aroused admiration in all of us and and he has inspired generations of very young fighters who try to emulate his kicks. I and maybe we all, have to be grateful to Davide for his fantastic career. GRAZIE DAVIDE, love you ❤️
