✨ Michelangelo’s Masterpiece: The Moses ✨
Who knows in which church this masterpiece is located? 🤔
Michelangelo's Moses is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture, created between 1513 and 1515 as part of the tomb for Pope Julius II. Originally intended to be part of a grander structure, Moses stands out with its powerful depiction of the biblical figure after receiving the Ten Commandments.
The statue captures Moses in a moment of intense contemplation, his muscular form and stern expression conveying both physical and spiritual strength. Notably, the figure has two horns, a detail stemming from a mistranslation of the Hebrew Bible into Latin, where "rays of light" were mistakenly interpreted as "horns."

Rome is Blazing Hot Today! 🌞🔥
With temperatures soaring to 100°F (38°C), Rome is feeling the full force of summer! If you're out exploring this incredible city, here are some must-know tips to help you stay cool and make the most of your visit:
💧 Stay Hydrated: Keep a water bottle with you at all times. Take advantage of Rome's public fountains (nasoni) to refill and stay refreshed.
👒 Dress for the Heat: Choose light, breathable clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.
🛋️ Take Frequent Breaks: Plan your day with breaks in mind. Cool down with a gelato or relax in the shade at one of Rome’s beautiful parks like the Borghese Gardens, or head to your hotel for a mid-day siesta.
⏰ Start Early or Explore Late: Beat the heat by heading out early (around 7 AM) or enjoying the city in the late afternoon or evening when it’s cooler out.
❄️ Cool Off Indoors: Spend the hottest part of the day inside air-conditioned museums, churches, or shops.
🚶♂️ Avoid Midday Walking Tours: The late morning to early afternoon is the hottest time of the day. Skip outdoor walking tours around sites like the Roman Forum, Colosseum, and Palatine Hill, or anywhere around Rome.
🏛️ Avoid Tourist Attractions with Long Lines: Sites like the Colosseum, Vatican Museums, and Pantheon often have long lines, even for ticket holders, due to security checks or ID checks.
🚗 Tour Rome by Car: Book a private tour with RomeCabs to explore the city in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle, the best way to see Rome on a hot day!
Stay cool and enjoy the Eternal City, even in the summer heat! ☀️

We hope you are all having a wonderful SATURDAY! ☀☺
We know that July comes from Julius Caesar and August from Emperor Augustus... but what about "SATURDAY"? Well, once again back to Ancient Rome once again...
The name "Saturday" comes from Old English "Sæterdæg," which is derived from the Latin "Saturni dies," meaning "day of Saturn." Saturn was the Roman god of agriculture and time, and the name reflects the influence of Roman culture on the English language.
This naming convention is consistent with the way many days of the week are named after celestial bodies or deities, a tradition that has roots in ancient Roman and Norse mythology.
Happy Weekend!
We hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend ☺☀
With the cooler temperatures and crisp air, there's no better time to travel to Rome than in the fall (primarily September and October).
