“The founding principles of this highly exclusive project also take into consideration multiple aspects simultaneously, such as: attention to the genius loci of the location; the natural and vegetative environment; the stratified culture of urbanization; and, lastly, luxury as the core value of elevated exclusivity.”

“The five individual villas will have near-total privacy, uniquely shaped by their architecture, which is fundamentally defined and transformed through the interplay of shadow, reflections, light, and color. The project uses wood and a reflective, synthetic ceramic material finished with white gold dust. It is polished and semi-reflective and, when combined with the wood, offers an overall elevated look to the modern design.”

“The Project features islands designed by landscape architects, mixing colors and scents, inspired by the gardens Karl Lagerfeld loved, which are interspersed throughout the luxury development and accented with key private areas such as a firepit, mindfulness areas, and lunching spaces. Meanwhile the ground floor is see-through, in order to remove visual boundaries between the inside and the gardens or surrounding natural area, opening onto the infinite landscape.”

“In the extraordinary location of Marbella, Karl Lagerfeld is pleased to present its first-ever luxury architectural project.
The landscape plays a major role in the overall look and feel of the villas, offering views of the horizon while using the geometric volume of the surrounding greenery to create an idyllic atmosphere.“

In a city full of New York institutions, the Four Seasons stands out as a true cultural icon and architectural landmark. Designed by Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (who also designed the entire building), the stunning space included some excellent furniture, as for example the Four Seasons Barstool, which was a collaboration between Mies and Johnson and was designed specifically for the restaurant in 1958.
For almost sixty years the Four Seasons was a symbol for style and luxury of the New York City’s elite.

“Even after The Four Seasons evolved into the quintessential New York restaurant after a 1979 article in Esquire declared its Grill Room the setting for “America’s Most Powerful Lunch,” its fortunes were always tied to the booms and busts of the economy, enduring the deep recessions of 1987 and 2008 and reveling in the euphoric highs of the dot.com era and Internet Age. By any measure, 60 years is an extraordinary time for any restaurant to survive both changes in the economy, tastes and style.”

“The Italian House” is an editorial written in 1928 by architect / designer / painter Gio Ponti where he tried to investigate the philosophy of the domestic space.
How is this essay still relevant for today as a question on what we called “living” in the contemporary culture?
In the Italian House, the so-called “comfort” is not exclusively linked to the needs and comforts of our life and the organisation of services.
This “comfort” is in something superior. It is in giving us with its architecture a measure for our own thoughts, in giving us with its simplicity a health for our habits, in giving us with its great hospitality the sense of a confident and numerous life, and is finally, for its easy and happy and ornate opening out and communication with nature, in the invitation that the Italian House offers to our spirit to recreate itself in restful visions of peace, which consists in the full sense of the beautiful Italian word, CONFORTO (consolation)."
Gio Ponti – The Italian House, 1928

In order to add a more “humanist” and contemporay feel to the typeface, the designer had to fix proportions, optical corrections and terminals.
The typeface has some specific stylistic variants that make it more flexible and suitable for different functions.
The typeface designed specifically for Muoto is based on grotesk and geometric typefaces developed during early 1920’s in the United States (as for example Intertype Gothic, Bernard Gothic and Ludlow Tempo).
As a response to the extreme rationalism and geometry of the European typefaces of the same age, these examples are more eclectic, maybe naïve but for sure less rigid.
The Muoto brand speaks with its own voice.
A bespoke typeface has been designed to deliver our visual identity and values: attention to details, elegant, functional and high-efficient solutions.
