What an incredible experience we had at this year's SOSORT 2024 International Conference in Boston! Our team from National Scoliosis Center had the privilege of joining forces with like-minded professionals from across the globe to advance the field of non-operative scoliosis treatment and care. 🌍

Here's a glimpse of our team alongside the newly appointed SOSORT President, Sabrina Donzelli, and the talented Eric Campesi, physical therapist at Schroth DC. 📸 This year marked Cara and Heather's inaugural attendance, and they were truly empowered and inspired by the wealth of knowledge and camaraderie present. 💪 From groundbreaking research insights to fostering invaluable connections, it was a transformative experience being surrounded by individuals dedicated to providing top-tier non-operative care to patients worldwide. 🌟

As we continue to integrate these learnings into our practice, we're more motivated than ever to elevate the standard of care and support for individuals with scoliosis. Together, we're forging a path towards a brighter, healthier future.

I recently had the privilege to be part of Scoliosis Day in Campinas. I learnt a lot from great expert in the field of spine disease from Brazil I congratulate the organisers for creating such a good education opportunity. We really need good quality education!

Nonostante i progressi di scienza e tecnologia predire la storia della scoliosi è ancora una grande sfida per cui l'esperienza clinica è fondamentale. Nel futuro speriamo che con ampie raccolte dati sarà forse più semplice e l'intelligenza artificiale più utile.

Since its beginning in 2004, the International Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT) has been dedicated to the advancement of the non-operative management of idiopathic scoliosis and other spinal structural changes.

SOSORT is a multi-disciplinary society that brings together clinicians and researchers from all over the world to exchange the knowledge and newest trends in conservative treatment of spinal structural changes.

The work of this organization is grounded in scientific evidence, clinical expertise, and professional consensus. Its mission is to advance foundational knowledge, document effective historical interventions, and develop and refine guidelines to promote effective and innovative treatments for this population.

Al congresso Sosort, svoltosi ieri per la prima volta interamente in versione online, vi è stato un altro grande successo per Isico.
La dott.ssa Sabrina Donzelli, fisiatra, ha vinto il Sosort Award, vale a dire il primo premio con la ricerca "Predicting final results of Brace Treatment of Adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis : First Out-of-Brace are Better than In-Brace-radiographs".
E' per il secondo anno di fila che Isico si aggiudica questo prestigioso premio.
Congratulazioni alla vincitrice e al team di Isico, costantemente impegnato in prima linea nella ricerca per il miglior trattamento conservativo delle deformità vertebrali.

Il Coronavirus ci ha insegnato quanto la scienza e la ricerca siano fondamentali. Per la salute di tutti.
Possiamo allora credere che nel prossimo futuro ci sarà una maggiore riconoscenza verso il settore sanitario e una percezione più giusta di quanto siano importanti la comunità scientifica, la ricerca e il lavoro basato sulle evidenze, ossia su ciò che è provato dagli studi funziona?

Un nuovo post sul nostro blog, scritto dalla nostra fisioterapista Martina Poggio, pone una serie di interrogativi che non toccano solo le patologie di cui strettamente in Isico ci occupiamo ma la scienza e la medicina in specifico.

Un mese fa è partita ufficialmente Isico Telemedicina. A settimane di distanza siamo certi di avere fatto la scelta migliore per il momento che stiamo vivendo. Perché ci ha permesso di stare vicino ai nostri pazienti e portare avanti le terapie. In tanti ci state confermando di condividere questa opportunità e di essere addirittura sorpresi di quanto possa funzionare.

Telehealth - A really great way for consultations
"I always wanted to have the possibility to use telehealth. Even if the current circumstances are not the circumstances I wished for, I was very happy for the offer from ISICO to try Telehealth. I knew that it would require some hours of preparation at least for the first time, so I procrastinated for at least two or three weeks. But then I decided to force myself through the whole process.
I was very astonished about the tool “weTransfer”, it is possible to send huge data.
It took me about 20 minutes to send the x-rays and I just made sure that my computer didn’t turn off during the transmission.
ISICO helped me before to find the right documents on the CD. Taking pictures was very easy with the explanations from ISICO.
For the video I bought a scoliometer through Amazon. The cheapest one costs 20 € and a very professional one 98 €. My husband took the video and I made the measurements with the scoliometer. The consultation with the doctor and afterwords with the therapist were more than great. It was above our expectations. Our doctor could fully assess the current brace and we spoke about the further treatment. Our therapist gave my daughter a full set of new exercises. He really saw even the tiniest movements to correct. This kind of consultation is much more comfortable for us than the long travel with flights and train and metro from Munich to Milan.
We definitely want to proceed this way and we are very thankful that we got the chance to use Telehealth".

Il giovane artista e paziente Isico, che ha partecipato alcuni anni fa al Concorsetto, il concorso nazionale di Isico partito da poco per la sua sesta edizione, non avrebbe mai immaginato quanto il suo messaggio sarebbe contato oggi più che mai. Lui, tempo fa, non desiderava altro che mettere la parola "Fine" al suo percorso "corsettato". Oggi tutti noi desideriamo più che mai che tutta questa sofferenza giunga alla fine.
Non vediamo l'ora di vedere la luce alla fine del tunnel!
