Conoscete le Grotte di Falvaterra? Sono un vero e proprio gioiello della Ciociaria, una perla tra le aree protette. Si tratta di un percorso lungo più di 2 km, percorribile da tutti, scandito da suggestive cascate e pareti rocciose bianchissime dove trovano rifugio animali ipogei.

The splendid Triton Fountain in Rome

La splendida fontana del Tritone fu realizzata da Bernini tra la fine del 1642 e la prima metà del 1643 su incarico di Papa Urbano VIII Barberini. Il tritone è rappresentato con il busto eretto, le gambe squamose e la testa piegata all’indietro nello sforzo di soffiare nella grande buccina (conchiglia tortile) dalla quale sgorga l’acqua che irrora tutta l’opera.

The splendid Triton Fountain by Gian Lorenzo Bernini was built between the end of 1642 and the first half of 1643 on behalf of Pope Urban VIII Barberini. The triton is represented with an erect torso, scaly legs, and head bent back to blow into the large buccina (spiral shell) from which the water gushes and irrigates the whole work.

Passeggiando nel rione Trastevere siamo rimasti estasiati nell'ammirare la bellezza dalla Fontana dell'acqua Paola, nota anche come Fontanone del Gianicolo. 😍
Un'opera dal fascino unico realizzata nei primi anni del 1600 per volere di papa Paolo V Borghese a seguito del ripristino dell'acquedotto Traiano.
Nei primi anni del 900 (1901 - 1930) l'acqua della fontana alimentò la prima centrale idroelettrica di Roma.
