Si narra che l’imperatore di Bisanzio si innamorò di una gentildonna veneziana alla quale volle donare una preziosa veste in seta e oro. Incaricò un esperto tessitore del suo seguito che insegnò la tecnica alle maestranze locali. Era nata una tradizione! Legend has it that the emperor of Byzantium fell in love with a Venetian noblewoman whom he wanted to gift with a precious silk and gold robe. He commissioned an expert weaver from his retinue who taught the technique to local weavers. A tradition was born!
