🇿🇦**WE ARE GOING TO SOUTH AFRICA!!!** 🇿🇦
Big, wonderful, very exciting news!!! I'm thrilled to announce a beautiful collaboration with Dr. Mmatshilo Motsei that aligns with our mission to revolutionize maternal health by combining modern insights with sacred traditions. Dr. Motsei, embodies wisdom, healing, and empowerment, with decades of experience as a midwife, activist, author, and recently, a Ph.D. graduate in Traditional Midwifery of South Africa. Her dedication to preserving and disseminating ancestral birth knowledge is a testament to the power and necessity of our work. Follow her
TWO AMAZING OFFERINGS:
✨️1) The African Spirituality of Childbirth Course: This online course, created by Dr. Motsei, offers deep insights into Indigenous birthing practices and promotes a holistic approach to childbirth. It's an invaluable resource for healthcare providers, healers, and anyone interested in African birthing wisdom. (Get 10% off with code ). She has walked me through the curriculum and it is mindblowingly interesting!!! One of the coolest dives into a different birth culture- and there is so much that will resonate across lands. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
✨️2) Wombs of the World is going to South Africa in 2025: Join us for a 12-day journey across South Africa in collaboration with Dr. Motsei’s foundation, Afrika Ikalafe Pluriversity (). Tragedies like these happens more often than not. Bringing awareness to black maternal health.
What’s your comfort measure?
One of the things we’ve been practicing/studying is the rebozo technique.
The Rebozo is a special woven cloth, woven by indigenous weavers generation after generation. The Rebozo is a cultural emblem as well as an artifact of women’s ceremony and daily life. The beautiful traditions of using an authentic Mexican Rebozo are handed down from mother to daughter and midwife to midwife.
One of the many uses of the Rebozo is to sift or jiggle the pregnant abdomen or pelvis. Vibration is a technique to improve fascia function to help pregnancy comfort and birth ease.
Meet our Doula
Ebony is the true embodiment of a renaissance woman. In addition of holding the offices of loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and dutiful friend of everyone she encounters, Ebony is an avid traveler, eager agriculturalists, and studious homeopathic practitioner certified in CPR training, paralegal, realty, travel agent and doula services. Ebony has always felt a calling of advocacy in general as she has participated in CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocacy) programs for at-risk children across the nation. One of Ebony’s greatest passions in the realm of advocacy is to provide meaningful disclosure and defense of maternal and infant rights.. Her inspiration to become a doula developed through her own prenatal experiences as well as witnessing and learning of terrible true stories, and data as it pertains to the lack of adequate provisions for richly-melanated, and indigenous women and children within the framework of colonial caste hierarchy. Ebony is committed to giving vulnerable families service, thorough education and protection which they otherwise might not receive. Ebony sits on the board of directors of Wombs of the World and is looking forward to traveling and studying cultural maternal health practices in diverse communities. Her goal is to get back to her dormant ancient ancestral instincts through a holistic approach in service of the natural and growing global community. Ebony is diligently working to advance all expectant mothers and families to an erudite level of knowledge about how to protect themselves and advance the well-concealed narrative that childbirth can and should always be safe, beautiful, spiritual and tranquil.
I’m excited to embark on my new journey with NJTCO Doula Services, something that I’ve been passionate about for quite sometime which is maternal/infant health and becoming a full time doula!
On my quest to start taking new clients and serving families I had the pleasure of being able to sit on the board of this amazing organization (Wombs of the World Foundation)! WOTW collaborate with local organizations in Tanzania, Ecuador, Mexico and beyond, enhancing hospital infrastructure, supporting traditional midwifery, and empowering birth centers to tailor their services to the unique needs of their communities. (If interested Ask me how you can donate or participate)
Wombs of the World offers international immersive educational programs for professional perinatal workers such as doulas, midwives, and L&D nurses.
