Face Yoga is a natural way of looking and feeling younger and healthier and there is an added sense of relaxation and wellbeing.
It is a combination of face exercises, face massage, face acupressure and face relaxation techniques.
Yesterday I went for the most wonderful Zephorium face massage Healyourvibrations.
My fascination with crystals and alternative therapies drew me to this therapy as I didn't know we had this over here.
Amanda was so lovely and I also felt so drawn to what she was offering as it was based around crystal healing and affirmations and the bodies chakras which the products she uses from Zephorium are all about.
We got chatting and as I was talking about certain struggles she sprayed one of the aura sprays they do around me and I cried! It was the most surreal thing that this spray conjured up these intense feelings.
Suffice to say it has drawn me even more to this passion I have found not only with the Face Yoga but with all over desire to bring more wellness in.
I also had to go and buy a shed load of Zephorium products too haha.

My self care has done so much for me in terms of my mental health and feeling healthy the majority of the time.
I spent so many years trying to please others and never doing anything for me, now it’s all about what I need.
Menopause 😟
The menopause and its symptoms and struggles are very much in the media at the moment, thanks in part to the likes of Davina McCall shining a light on just what a debilitating thing this can be for some women.
My own personal journey has been helped so much by creating a programme of self care and wellness to be able to handle some of the awful symptoms that come with this new phase in life.
👍Trying to eat well most of the time (this one is a constant struggle as I have a severely sweet tooth!)
👍 Exercise...making sure I do something each day that moves my body, my go to is yoga as I prefer the slowness of it these days, but I do weights, hiit and just walking each day
👍Water, I try to drink as much as possible to stay highdrated
👍Supplements, anything I come across that may help me I will give it a try and see what happens. My constants are Vitamin D, Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin B
👍Rest! This may actually be the most important to me. I have to find a balance between keeping busy to keep my mind on an even keel with also making sure I take the time to just be by myself and recharge my batteries (the joys of being an introvert!)
👍and by no means least and the thing I make sure I do every day is my skin care, the menopause has not only hammered my body (I will never have an instagrammable body lol and I realise that I have to just accept that!) but it has hammered my face, the loss of elastin, the loss of collagen, things I am trying to restore.
👍This is where the Face Yoga is such a go to for me, I have learnt through my study the benefits it has with consistency and dedication it can improve your face, your mind, your wellbeing.

Emotions go up and down - today the menopause was having its day and I just felt angry 😤
Housework had to take precedence over anything else which I found overwhelming because I wanted to exercise, I wanted to do my face yoga, I wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather in the garden and am going for a barbecue later.
I realised that I needed food and once I had eaten I found the energy to get myself on the mat and where I had decided the day was ruined and I was only going to lounge around in the garden I now have the mindset to go and do my face yoga.
It’s amazing how breath work can give you this energy you didn’t have before which is another wonderful thing about face yoga, it centres your mind and lifts your spirits as well as your face 🙏🙌🏻
🤩The muscles are the foundation of the skin. In order to have radiant, tight, beautiful looking skin, you need a good foundation which supports it from below. Face Yoga exercises work by strengthening the muscles under the skin.
🤩As the muscles get toned and grow, they fill in and give you a youthful face. Face Yoga exercises also promote better blood and oxygen flow throughout the face and body, making it easier for nutrients to reach the top layer of the skin. When the skin is given proper nutrients, its turn over speeds up and the result is more radiant, softer skin.
🤩By doing simple facial exercises daily, you also add more symmetry to your face, and slow down the aging process.

The frontalis muscle (from Latin 'frontal muscle') is a muscle which covers parts of the forehead of the skull. Some sources consider the frontalis muscle to be a distinct muscle. However, Terminologia Anatomica currently classifies it as part of the occipitofrontalis muscle along with the occipitalis muscle.
In humans, the frontalis muscle only serves for facial expressions.
Excessive expressions, worry, tension and stress can cause lines across the forehead.
Face Yoga can help to release the tension and stress in your face giving a youthful and healthy glow to the skin.

[1] The procerus muscle fibers run superiorly and merge with the frontalis muscle. Muscle fibers insert into the skin between the eyebrows.

👁The orbicularis oculi is a muscle in the face that closes the eyelids. It arises from the nasal part of the frontal bone, from the frontal process of the maxilla in front of the lacrimal groove, and from the anterior surface and borders of a short fibrous band, the medial palpebral ligament.

I Was sat in the dentist 🪥 chair for 2 1/2 hrs this morning and when it was finished I could just feel the tension in my forehead…this is such a lovely massage to ease out the tension in the forehead. Please excuse the nails 💅🏻 haven’t been able to get to the salon 💇♀️ haha 😂
It only takes one blip for me to lose my routine and become slack so Yesterday was about easing myself back into life after a week of covid and then a week on holiday, getting my skin health back and today is about getting the exercise back on track. An hour walking the pooch and an hour of yoga with my little shadow who never leaves my side! 🚶🏼♀️🧘♀️🐾
Nourishing brunch after a week of too much meat 🥩 , junk and chocolate 🍫 ….eggs 🥚sourdough bread 🍞 avocado 🥑 and halloumi 🧀with a homemade hollandaise sauce…and of course have to have a cuppa ☕️✨
A week sailing the Adriatic ⛵️was wonderful for the mind but unfortunately took its toll on my skin as I wasn’t doing my usual facial care regime. Back in the Island 🏝 and today is about getting some moisture back into my skin starting with a Liz Earle gentle exfoliation scrub, the pro collagen mask I have on here (yeah I didn’t come back with a tan lol) and then a spa treatment with my Foreo UFO. My workshop is in 9 days so there is still time to sign up, just send me a message ✨
A week of sailing the Adriatic….haven’t been able to keep up with my self care as much as I would at home but self care isn’t just about exercise, the food you eat and facial exercises. Being away from the daily grind, computers, phones, deciding what to cook for dinner etc and being in nature and calmness is just as important for the tension in your face.

Face Yoga Method is a combination of two things. The traditional and the modern. Many techniques are rooted in Eastern philosophies and practices which have been used for thousands of years in India, China and Japan. These practices have been passed down through generations and proven time and time again to be helpful for both aesthetics and health.
The Method is also very much based on modern research and techniques which look at the science of the face, how it is composed and how it should be treated.

The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method was part of a study done by the BBC, the UK’s most renowned TV station.
A doctor was taught how to do the upper face workout, the lower face workout and 10 minutes of Facelift massage from the face yoga method. He did this daily for 30 minutes for 20 weeks.
His twin, also a doctor, had a PRP treatment (a “vampire facial”) which is a one-off treatment of £1000 which involves needles.
Both of the twins’ skin was analysed by a high-tech skin machine with a dermatologist before and after.
For the twin that had the vampire facial, it was shown that his skin looked 2 years OLDER as a result of his treatment.
