Benefits of the overhead press

- [ ] Improve core strength: Training the overhead press will not only strengthen your shoulders, but it will improve your core stability also.
- [ ] Stronger shoulders: The prime movers in the overhead press are the anterior and medial deltoids. If you want stronger shoulders, the overhead press is necessary.
- [ ] Strengthen the triceps: Being a compound movement, the overhead press improves builds the strength of the triceps muscles.

“I have worked with Yan Aleksandrov since October 2022, and have been very happy with the support that he has provided me with since the start of our time working together.

I had lost a significant amount of weight in the previous nine month period to October 2022, and my goal was to build core strength and rebuild muscular definition after that weight loss.

Yan took the time to understand my personal objectives being mindful of previous back and shoulder injuries that I had encountered, and created a plan for strength training that was tailored to my needs.

He has always explained each exercise in detail, ensuring that I understand the proper form and technique to maximize effectiveness, while minimizing the risk of injury. I have found our work together to be effective, and Yan has been there to provide support and guidance.

Overall, my experience working with Yan has been very positive and I have been very satisfied with the results I have seen from our work together. I am grateful for the positive impact he has made for me and would certainly recommend him as a trainer to others.”

When I decided to become a personal trainer, my motivation was for the wrong, selfish reasons. “Oh I love training so I can make a living out of it. I’ll workout all day” etc…
One thing I didn’t know… There is a big difference between love to train and love training people. Hearing about the positive impact that you left on others, makes all the struggles and challenges worth it.

“I was struggling with my lower back for over a year and never thought I would be able to train hard again. This was until I started training with Yan. He has allowed me to excel in my training whilst always focusing on how I’m feeling. Our workouts have always been to make my back stronger and they have done just that. We work hard whilst always making it a comfortable environment for me. He always has challenging sessions planned out yet always prioritises my back over anything else. Training with Yan is always fun with great workouts that help me improve my well-being. During the 7 months I have trained with him i’ve been able to achieve things that I never thought I would after hearing the news about my back.
He has made me feel stronger and more confident in terms of training. He encourages me to do my best and has helped me overcome the obstacles my lower back has created. I now feel 100% like myself again and I am certain that I’ll improve even further with Yan’s help.”

I’m truly fortunate to be able to work with some really good people.

I’m doing this job for 7 years now and making a change it’s not always easy. Building mutual trust and focusing on the process takes time and effort. Nothing good comes easy in life but having support always helps.

Great leg session this week. Getting back into some heavier lifting. Pretty basic routine but works like a charm. 💪
