Statement from Carib Cement...
ππͺ At Carib Cement, weβre proudly championing diversity and inclusion!
This Disability Employment Awareness Month, we hosted an impactful Diversity Employment Awareness Fair, bringing together partners from the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies, Jamaica Council of Persons Living with Disabilities, and Deaf Can Coffee.
Participants gained an understanding of our operations and learned about our Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Programme.
As part of our VRU, we're utilizing technology in our trucks to enhance safety for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable road users.
We also engaged in vital discussions on improving accessibility within our plant, hearing inspiring insights from individuals with diverse disabilities.
Weβre committed to creating an environment where everyone truly matters. π
Two years strong with zero Lost Time Injuries!
This milestone is a testament to the dedication, discipline, and commitment of every member of the team.
We're showing that safety comes first, and with this same drive, weβll continue building a safer future.

Last Thursday, we commissioned a brand new 900-metre concrete road in the community of Paisley in the parish of St. James!
Our Managing Director, Jorge Martinez, shared information that Carib Cement is exploring the potential of a revolutionary concrete-based road solution called Unicapa! ππ€
Introduced by Cemex in countries like Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, Unicapa is a special pavement designed for rural areas and difficult-to-access roads.
This innovative solution supports mobility, independence, and sustainable development within our communities.
We were also excited to learn that the Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett is a strong advocate for the use of concrete roads in rural areas.
