Our immediate Past President, Mr. Clive Coke and Vice President, Ms. Hazelyn Brown represented us at the recently held meeting of the International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations. This was held at the World Customs Organization in Brussels, Belgium.

A Restraining order was handed down by Supreme Court Justice Lorna Shelley-
Williams this morning (March 28) to stay the planned April 2 implementation of the controversial Contactless Customs Clearance Policy by the Jamaica Customs Agency
further to a review hearing scheduled for April 25.

Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica Emina Tudakovic has called upon custom brokers and freight forwarders to embrace modern business processes, and at the same time be vigilant against unscrupulous and illegal goods coming into the island.
“Ensuring the border security of the country is a collective responsibility, custom brokers are critical in this process,” Tudakovic, who was the keynote speaker at the 57th annual general meeting of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Jamaica (CBFFAJ) at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, on Sunday, May 7. “Security and counter-terrorism is responsibility of all – defence agencies, immigration, and custom brokers form an integral process.”
