Happy Indra Jatra to all

Today, we celebrate the vibrant festival of Indra Jatra, which holds deep significance in the hearts of the Newar community in Sikkim. On this 15th day of Yenla, the 11th month of the Nepalese calendar, we pay homage to Lord Indra, the Hindu God of Rain and King of Heaven, seeking his blessings for bountiful rains and showers.

Legend has it that centuries ago, Indra's mother yearned for the enchanting scent of Parijat flowers, and Indra, in his quest to find them, stumbled upon the Kathmandu Valley. When he attempted to take these flowers, he was captured and imprisoned by the valley's inhabitants. Upon realizing their mistake, they released Indra and, in an act of appeasement, bestowed upon us the vibrant and colorful festival of Indra Jatra.

Let us come together in joy and gratitude, cherishing this rich cultural tradition and the unity it brings. May the blessings of Lord Indra shower upon us like the gentle rain, filling our lives with abundance and harmony.

Today, on the auspicious occasion of Vishwakarma Puja, I commenced my day by visiting the Mangan pandal to offer my heartfelt prayers. Subsequently, I made my way to the Mainline Taxi drivers' pandal, and lastly at the Mangan Truck drivers' pandal. During my visit, I took a moment to pray for enduring peace and harmony.

The Vishwakarma Puja holds deep significance in our lives, transcending mere rituals to become a beacon of hope for the peace and prosperity we all yearn for. This sacred celebration serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of communal harmony and unity. When we gather together in prayer and festive spirit, we not only seek the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma but also recommit ourselves to the cause of peace.

I wish to underscore the crucial role of public participation in such communal events. These gatherings foster unity, shared blessings, and a profound sense of togetherness within our community. Having consistently participated in such pujas since my days in bureaucracy, whether formally invited or not, I have always wholeheartedly encouraged everyone to actively engage in these significant social occasions. I was delighted to participate in today's coordination meeting at Zilla Bhawan, where we discussed the upcoming visit of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Golay, to Lachen-Mangan Constituency from September 25th to September 28th, 2023.

The primary aim of the meeting was to ensure efficient coordination and meticulous planning for the visit. The tentative schedule for the visit was finalized as follows:

September 25th: The Chief Minister will depart from Gangtok to Lachen and stay overnight in Lachen.

September 26th: He will virtually lay the foundation stone of Tsu-lung-tru- sum project at Thangu North Sikkim under Lachen Dzumsa. In the evening, he will depart for Lachung and stay overnight there.

September 27th: The Chief Minister will participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Guru Rinpoche statue at Techen under Lachung Dzomsa. Later, he will depart from Lachung to Mangan and stay overnight in Mangan.

September 28th: The Chief Minister will depart for Gangtok.

The meeting also had the presence of various dignitaries, including the Area MLA of Lachen Mangan Constituency, Adakshaya North, up-Adakshaya, Chairman of Social Welfare, Chairperson of Women Commission, SKM Vice President Shri Ganden Lachungpa, APS North, Pipons of Lachung and Lachen, Zilla Panchayat, Panchayats, DLC (District Level Committee), CLC (Constituency Level Committee), and active party supporters.

The visit of the Honorable Chief Minister is of great significance for the Lachen Mangan Constituency, as it is expected to boost development initiatives and welfare projects in the region.

The coordination meeting showcased the commitment of all attendees to ensure the visit's success while upholding the dignity and protocol of the esteemed office.

As the visit draws near, the local community eagerly looks forward to welcoming the Honorable Chief Minister and witnessing the developmental activities that will be initiated during this time.

Today, I am extremely happy to be part of Pang-lhab-sol celebration at Ringkhim monastery. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Ringhim Rikzing Choling Gumpa for inviting me to partake in this joyous event.

Pang-lhab-sol festival holds great significance as it embodies the unity and reverence of the Sikkimese people. Our Sikkimese community is founded upon the strong bonds of friendship, love, and brotherhood among our diverse groups. May this spirit of togetherness continue to flourish, reminiscent of the pact between the Lepcha chieftain Thekong Thek and Bhutia chieftain Khye Bumsa, with the majestic Mt. Khangchendzonga as a revered witness.

On this exceptional day, as we pay homage to the guardian deity Mount Khangchendzonga, I offer prayers for everlasting tranquillity in Sikkim and for the unity of our people to pave the way for a brighter and more promising future for the region.

I along with Mrs. Chungchung Bhutia(Chairperson, Khadi Board), Mr. Chungchung Lepcha (Ex-Panchayat, Chungthang), Mr.Ezra Tamang ( Panchayat Vice President,Singhik-Sentam), Mr. Hangu Lachenpa (Councillor, Mangan), Mr. Chewang Lepcha (General Secretary Incharge, North SKM), Mr. Gangtokay Lepcha ( Naga), and friends and well wishers from Lachen attended the ongoing 77th Independence Day Celebration football Cup organized by Lachung Dzomsa at Lachung.

The semi-final match was interesting to watch and we all had a great time. I would like to thank the organizing committee for the invitation.

Attended the Independence Day Celebration football match at Mangan today organized by North District Football Association (NDFA). I was accompanied by Mr. Hangu Lachenpa (Councillor) Ward Panchayat of upper and lower singhik and Panchayat President Mr. Sherab Bhutia.

I would like to extend my best wishes for the remaining matches to all the participating teams and also would like to thank the committee members for the invitation.

Our critics may say why Unmukti Diwas? For all right thinking Sikkimese people, the two popular corruption cases convicted by the court was Mr. Bhandari’s corruption case involving Rs. 2 Lakh and Mr. Golay’s case involving Rs. 8 Lakhs. Whereas, there are many unexposed corruption involving thousands of crores. Therefore, those critics have no moral ground to accuse us.
The massive support received by Shri. PS Golay when he was released from jail and subsequently voted to power signify that majority of the people of Sikkim were oppressed by the then trident govt. The number of Vigilence cases slapped against Govt. employees, which could not withstand the scrutiny of the law as the conviction rate is still zero is sufficient enough to prove to show the high handedness and vindictive attitude of Mr. Chamling regime.
Mr. Golay has been the face for the faceless and voice for the voiceless and hence, this day the 10th Aug is celebrated as Jan Unmukti Diwas.
On this day, I on behalf of the common mass and on my own behalf express my heartiest gratitude to Mr. PS Tamang (Golay) our Hon’ble Chief Minsiter, Ren Kunga Nima Lepcha, and Ven. Sonam Lama for sailing us through the turbulent sea and bringing us to the safety of the shore. You three are truly the symbol of Sikkimese unity.
I also salute all Krantikaris and congratulate all for brining us thus far.
