OCK was HYPE'd on International Optimist Day! The club, under the patronage of Her Excellency the Most Honourable Lady Allen, handed over musical instruments to Kingsway High & Preparatory School on February 2, 2023

OCK celebrated International Optimist Day at Kings Way Prep and High School where the club donated an 88-keys weighted keyboard and violin musical instruments to the school's music lab. The club also participated with the school in its 80th anniversary celebrations

Highlights of celebration of OCK'S 42nd Anniversary Church Service at Saxthorpe Methodist Church on August 14, 2022

OCK members came out in their numbers to paint pedestrian crossing at St. Aloysius Primary School on Labour Day, May 23, 2022. The team then went on to Windward Road Primary School to assist in the school's clean up activities. It was a day well spent.

OCK donated Handheld Pulse Oximeter and three Infrared Thermometers to the Oncology Ward at the Bustamante Hospital for Children as its annual Easter treat.
The CEO, Mrs. Wallen Panton and the doctors and nurses who were present at the handover, expressed their gratitude and shared that the donation will make patients monitoring much easier and more efficient.

OCK was at the Louise Bennett Coverley Primary and All aged School in Gordon Town providing a much needed cleaning and re-installation of blinds to the Principal's office. The team led by Distinguished President Lorna and supported by Optimists Michelle and Barbara also contributed cleaning chemicals to the school.

OCK spread happiness and good cheer with the precious little ones at the Beaming Bright Sparks Basic School and Nursery as well as the children at Reddies Place of Safety on Happiness Day, March 22, 2022. They were truly happy occasions.

OCK copped various awards at OI Caribbean District Awards Ceremony held at Christar Villas Hotel on February 27, 2022. Awards included Club Distinguished Status, Club of the Year 2021, Zone of the Year, Club of the Quarter and Travellers Award.
Congratulations to Distinguished President Lorna for being awarded Optimist of the Year 2021 and Distinguished Ltg. Patricka for outstanding leadership in Zone 1. Congrats also to DLtg. Lelieth and Past Director Marva for outstanding work in the District.

On Optimists Day, OCK handed out tablets to students at the Excelsior Primary and Infant School. Her Excellency, The Most Honourable, Lady Allen, Minister, Honourable Faval Williams and donor Royal Computers representative Ms. Long shared in the moment.

OCK participated in beach cleanup

Personal care packages, baby care products and refreshments were presented to adolescent mothers at The Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation, Monk Street, St. Catherine by Team OCK. Christmas Cheer and Care

OCK visited the Jamaica National Children's Home on December 9, 2021 and donated care packages, food, clothing and play items for the children who were delighted for the visit.

Launched! OCK launched its Mentorship Programme at the Women's Center Foundation of Jamaica on November 25, 2021, as it participates in the Caribbean District's flagship programme, 'Mentorship For At Risk Youth'. Present were VP Nkurra, CP Biola, CP Margaret and President Hazel, Nexus 101 Club

Off to a great start, Optimist Club Of Kingston partnered with the Rotary Club of Savanna la mar to serve the health care workers of the Savanna la mar Hospital at the beginning of "Celebrate Community Week 2021".
Together they served sandwiches, cakes, buns, soups, water and coffee to over 180 health care workers on call including medical staff at A&E, Orthopaedic and Pediatric Wards

Happy New Optimist Year!!

Under the Caribbean District's flagship programme, 'Igniting The Entrepreneurial Mindset', OCK partnered with the Jamaica National Children's Home and Nation Builders Rock Foundation and successfully completed a Sewing Training Programme with both male and female students. The training was facilitated virtually by tutor Optimist Maxine Allen and hosted by Optimist Nkurra Skyers.

The students learned to sew bags, cushions and face masks. The items were displayed at an exhibition put on by the institution. The Club presented the top boy and top girl with tablets at the exhibition event. OCK also presented each student with care packages filled with personal hygiene items.

OCK marked its 41st Anniversary in celebration of thanksgiving at the Saxthorpe Methodist Church this morning, August 15, 2021

OCK FINISHING STRONG!! The club completed three life changing projects in one day, August 12, 2021.
The team visited the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation and replaced and installed kitchen cupboards that were in urgent need of upgrade. The club also donated kitchen utensils, baby diapers and baby formula for the teen mothers at the home.
The club then ventured to Lucky Valley Basic School in Catherine and donated twenty (20) tablets to children in need, as they continue to contribute to the demands of virtual learning.
The next project was in Portmore, St. Catherine where a lucky student also received a tablet.
A fulfilling day it was! Well done team OCK.

On Children's Day, May 21, 2021, the Optimist Club of Kingston led by President Lorna, donated one Infusion Pump and two Infrared Thermometers to the cancer ward at the Bustamante for Children. The items were presented by Distinguished Governor Dave and were received by Snr. Medical Officers, Dr. Michelle-Ann Richards-Dawson, CEO, Mrs. Camile Wallen-Panton and Director of Nursing Services Senior-Berry. The Infusion Pump was calibrated to support IV lines

OCK donated tissues, cleaning and sanitizing agents to the St. Simon Basic School in Jones Town. A grateful Principal Ms. Saddler received the items on behalf of the School

Past President Eris presented 7 year old Deborah Hall, a grade 2 student of Half Way Tree Primary School and her mom with a tablet computer. on the move!!

OCK continues it's donation of tablets to the children in the communities. Young Rihanna Abrahams of Hope Valley Experimental Primary School was delighted to be presented by President Lorna and Past Director Allister

Patients of Cancer Ward, Ward 1and Ward 3 of Bustamante Children Hospital were treated with gifts of toys, cakes and juices by Optimist Club of Kingston. A project dear to the heart of OCK for over 18 years.

OCK donated 40 headsets, 71 domino sets and a large cake to Genesis Academy, a special needs institution. Well done Team OCK !!

OCK donated 5 computer tablets to the Childcare Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA). Five students will benefit from this initiative chaired by Optimist Biola.
