OCK members came out in their numbers to paint pedestrian crossing at St. Aloysius Primary School on Labour Day, May 23, 2022. The team then went on to Windward Road Primary School to assist in the school's clean up activities. It was a day well spent.

OCK donated Handheld Pulse Oximeter and three Infrared Thermometers to the Oncology Ward at the Bustamante Hospital for Children as its annual Easter treat.
The CEO, Mrs. Wallen Panton and the doctors and nurses who were present at the handover, expressed their gratitude and shared that the donation will make patients monitoring much easier and more efficient.

OCK was at the Louise Bennett Coverley Primary and All aged School in Gordon Town providing a much needed cleaning and re-installation of blinds to the Principal's office. The team led by Distinguished President Lorna and supported by Optimists Michelle and Barbara also contributed cleaning chemicals to the school.

OCK copped various awards at OI Caribbean District Awards Ceremony held at Christar Villas Hotel on February 27, 2022. Awards included Club Distinguished Status, Club of the Year 2021, Zone of the Year, Club of the Quarter and Travellers Award.
Congratulations to Distinguished President Lorna for being awarded Optimist of the Year 2021 and Distinguished Ltg. Patricka for outstanding leadership in Zone 1. Congrats also to DLtg. Lelieth and Past Director Marva for outstanding work in the District.

Off to a great start, Optimist Club Of Kingston partnered with the Rotary Club of Savanna la mar to serve the health care workers of the Savanna la mar Hospital at the beginning of "Celebrate Community Week 2021".
Together they served sandwiches, cakes, buns, soups, water and coffee to over 180 health care workers on call including medical staff at A&E, Orthopaedic and Pediatric Wards

Under the Caribbean District's flagship programme, 'Igniting The Entrepreneurial Mindset', OCK partnered with the Jamaica National Children's Home and Nation Builders Rock Foundation and successfully completed a Sewing Training Programme with both male and female students. The training was facilitated virtually by tutor Optimist Maxine Allen and hosted by Optimist Nkurra Skyers.

The students learned to sew bags, cushions and face masks. The items were displayed at an exhibition put on by the institution. The Club presented the top boy and top girl with tablets at the exhibition event. OCK also presented each student with care packages filled with personal hygiene items.

Another successful OCK project. Well done team OCK!!

OCK FINISHING STRONG!! The club completed three life changing projects in one day, August 12, 2021.
The team visited the Women's Centre of Jamaica Foundation and replaced and installed kitchen cupboards that were in urgent need of upgrade. The club also donated kitchen utensils, baby diapers and baby formula for the teen mothers at the home.
The club then ventured to Lucky Valley Basic School in Catherine and donated twenty (20) tablets to children in need, as they continue to contribute to the demands of virtual learning.
The next project was in Portmore, St. Catherine where a lucky student also received a tablet.
A fulfilling day it was! Well done team OCK.

On Children's Day, May 21, 2021, the Optimist Club of Kingston led by President Lorna, donated one Infusion Pump and two Infrared Thermometers to the cancer ward at the Bustamante for Children. The items were presented by Distinguished Governor Dave and were received by Snr. Medical Officers, Dr. Michelle-Ann Richards-Dawson, CEO, Mrs. Camile Wallen-Panton and Director of Nursing Services Senior-Berry. The Infusion Pump was calibrated to support IV lines
