نشاط هذا المساء في الجمعية الفلكية الأردنية

أتقدم بأحر التعازي إلى الزميل والصديق "كيفن غوفيندر" بوفاة زوجته البروفيسورة "كارولينا أودمان-غوفندر" ... أود هنا أن أنقل كلمة التعزية التي قدمها البروفيسور "ثيبي ميدوبي"، رئيس الجمعية الفلكية الأفريقية، بهذا الخصوص.

بقلوب حزينة علمنا بوفاة زميلتنا وصديقتنا وعالمة الفلك البروفيسورة "كارولينا أودمان-غوفندر" هذه خسارة فادحة لمجتمعنا الفلكي، وسوف نتذكرها لأعمالها الرائعة، والتي كانت موضع تقدير كبير في جنوب إفريقيا والقارة الأفريقية وحول العالم. لقد تركت بصمة لا تمحى في مجال أبحاثها ومن خلال شغفها بالتواصل مع الجمهور والشباب لمشاركة حبها لعلم الفلك.
كانت كارولينا عضوًا نشطًا للغاية في الجمعية الفلكية الأفريقية (AfAS) ، حيث خدمت في العديد من اللجان وكانت جزءًا من المبادرات والتعاون الرئيسية. وقد عملت في مجلس إدارة الشبكة الأفريقية للمرأة في علم الفلك (AfNWA) بفخر وتفانٍ كبيرين.
نيابة عن الجمعية الفلكية الأفريقية وأعضائها، نود أن نشكرها على الدور المهم الذي لعبته كارولينا في تطوير ونمو علم الفلك في إفريقيا. تقدم الجمعية الفلكية الأفريقية تعازيها القلبية لزوجها "كيفن جوفندر" ولأولادها وعائلتها وأصدقائها وزملائها وطلبتها. وما سوف يواسينا هو أعمالها الهائلة التي لا تزال تلهمنا يوميًا.

My deepest condolences to my friend and colleague Kevin Govender on the passing of his wife, Prof. Carolina Ödman-Govender … I would like here to convey the word of condolence offered by Prof. Thebe Medupe, President of the African Astronomical Society, in this regard.

It is with sad hearts that we learn of the passing of our dear colleague, friend and astronomer, Prof. Carolina Ödman-Govender. This is a tremendous loss for the community, and she will be remembered for her amazing work, which was well appreciated in South Africa, the African continent and around the world. She has left an indelible mark in her field of research and even her passion for reaching out to the public and the youth to share her love for Astronomy.

Carolina was a very active member of the African Astronomical Society (AfAS), having served on numerous committees and being part of key initiatives and collaborations. She served on the board of the African Network of Women in Astronomy (AfNWA) with pride and great dedication.

On behalf of the African Astronomical Society and its members, we thank her for playing an important role in the development and growth of Astronomy in Africa. AfAS offers heartfelt condolences to her husband, Kevin Govender, her boys, family, friends, colleagues, and students. We will be consoled by the tremendous work that continues to inspire us daily.

المركز الإقليمي لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لغرب آسيا ينظم فعالية لرصد كسوف الشمس

تحت رعاية عطوفة مدير عام المركز الاقليمي لتدريس علوم و تكنولوجيا الفضاء لغرب آسيا العقيد المهندس معمر كامل حدادين وفي إطار جهود المركز الإقليمي لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لغرب آسيا في نشر الثقافة والوعي بعلوم الفضاء والفلك، قام المركز بتنظيم عملية رصد للكسوف الجزئي للشمس الذي حدث اليوم (الثلاثاء 25-10-2022) وذلك في مقره الدائم ضمن حرم المركز الجغرافي الملكي الأردني في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان.

وقد ابدى المشاركون الذي زاد عددهم عن 60 مشاهدا اعجابهم بالتنظيم والتقنيات التي استخدمت في رصد هذه الظاهرة، حيث تم توزيع نظارات خاصة لرصد الكسوف على المشاركين حفاظا على سلامة الراصدين حسب معايير السلامة الدولية.

وقد شارك في عملية الرصد فريق من شركة ادرس جو التعليمية من خلال اجهزة رصد حديثة مزودة بكاميرات مخصصة لهذه الغاية.

وقدم كل من مدير الشؤون الأكاديمية د. حنا صابات و رئيس قسم التدريب د. قيس العمري شروحا وافية عن هذه الظاهرة وكيفية حدوثها وتكرارها في السنوات القادمة، اضافة لتقديم نصائح و تحذيرات على الراصد اتباعها عند النظر الى الشمس حفاظا على سلامتهم من اية مخاطر بصرية قد تحدث لهم في المستقبل.

وتعد ظاهرة الكسوف من الظواهر التي تحدث في المجموعة الشمسية و ذلك عندما تكون الارض والقمر والشمس على استقامة واحدة تقريبا ويكون القمر في المنتصف اي في وقت المحاق مطلع الشهر القمري، بحيث يلقي القمر ظله على الارض عندما يعبر قرص الشمس المضئ.

وقد بدأ أول تلامس ظاهري بين قرص القمر وقرص الشمس (بداية الكسوف الجزئي) نحو الساعة 12:59 من بعد ظهر اليوم، واستمر القمر بالتغطية التدريجية لقرص الشمس وصولاً إلى ذروة الكسوف الجزئي نحو الساعة 2:13 بعد الظهر، بنسبة احتجاب قصوى وصلت إلى نحو 35% من قرص الشمس. بعد ذلك، بدأ الكسوف الجزئي بالتلاشي تدريجياً حتى انتهى تمامًا نحو الساعة 3:24 من بعد ظهر اليوم حين حصل آخر تلامس ظاهري بين قرص القمر وقرص الشمس.

وتألف الحضور، من الكادر الأكاديمي والإداري والفني للمركز الإقليمي وكذلك بمشاركة قسم الفلك والمواقيت بالمركز الجغرافي الملكي وطلبة كلية المركز الجغرافي الملكي للعلوم المساحية، بالإضافة إلى بعض المهتمين من طلبة المدارس والمواطنين، كما شارك في الرصد عدد من معلمي منصة "إقرأ جو" التعليمية .

وتم بث الحدث كله بشكل مباشر على صفحة الفيسبوك الخاصة بالمركز الإقليمي.

كما شارك في الرصد كل من العميد خالد علاونة نائب المدير العام للمركز الإقليمي، والدكتور إبراهيم النسور مدير الشؤون الفنية، والدكتور قيس العمري رئيس قسم التدريب في المركز.
