Full time kindergarten and after school teach
In Ibaraki city Osaka!
Saito Keiai Yochien is currently accepting applications for a Kindergarten / Elementary English Teacher Position starting in April 2024.
We are looking for proactive, fun, energetic candidates with a great work ethic and a passion to effectively teach English to young students. Candidates should also possess creativity and a positive attitude, and be able to contribute to our current dynamic and exciting English team. Along with being able to speak Japanese and be a native English speaker.
Saito Keiai Yochien is a kindergarten within the Osaka area located in Ibaraki-city. In addition to our all-week International Kindergarten English programs and weekly "E-time" curriculum carried out at our own school, we also send out a team of our English teachers to our other keiai "sister" schools within the Ibaraki-city area. Within the Keiai organization, there are two kindergartens, ten "day schools" (hoikuens) and additional after-school English programs for elementary students. Altogether, our English programs serve around 2,000 students within the Ibaraki-city region. Our school also prides itself on providing excellent working hours, conditions, and the possibility of continued employment for our English-teaching staff from year to year.
A typical day for an employee on our English teaching team consists of:
- Participating in Japanese and English staff meetings.
- Greeting children at the gate, playing with students outside, and helping
Japanese teachers with their lessons in the classroom.
- Teaching fun, engaging, and creative English lessons for the kindergarten
students (ages 3-5), and for our after-school elementary programs (ages 6-12).
- Helping keep the kindergarten clean, and preparing for English lessons and events.
Work hours:
Monday ~ Friday: 40 hours per week (approx.)
The hours of your work will vary day to day depending on your schedule, but on days when a teacher does have to work late (elementary student classes, etc.), the time spent working late is adjusted and made up for on another work day that week. Our school does an outstanding job at making sure our Kindergarten English Teachers' schedule does not exceed very far past 40 hours on a regular work week.
There are exceptional weeks where the English teachers will need to come in on a Saturday with the rest of the staff and help prepare or carry out events, but considering the holiday time given off in the summer, winter, and spring, our work schedule for our English staff is exceptional.
Wage, reimbursements, deductions, and bonuses
Pay:
- Wage: 250,000 (before tax)
- Living allowance: 30,000 (before tax)
Reimbursements:
- Transportation expenses will be reimbursed by the school.
Taxes/Deductions:
- Japanese Pension (Shakai Hoken)
- Taxes
- Health Insurance
- Lunch Fee \ 6,000 yen per month
Bonus:
- For beginning English Kindergarten teachers, their first bonus will be received in the
winter and will be 25% of their monthly base salary. From their second year they
will receive a bonus both in the summer and the winter, each time in the amount of
25% of their monthly base salary.
Holidays and Breaks:
Saito Keiai Yochien observes all national holidays throughout the year. If for some reason we do have to work on a national holiday, we will receive another day off from work in exchange. We also provide our teachers with three different vacation periods:
- Spring break (approx. one week)
- Summer break (approx. three to four weeks)
- Winter break (approx. two weeks)
Please send your cover letter, photo, resume and any other related documents to Ryan Kaylor at…
