1651年に創建された、尾張徳川家の菩提寺。
遠くからも目立つ、15m位ある大きな三門。
境内には、大きな本堂、寺を建てた二代尾張藩主・徳川光友の墓所などがあります。
道路をはさんで寺の南側には公園が広がり、さらに南に行くと総門があります。

Kenchuji Temple

赤色（べんがら色）の壁がはえる山荘風の外観をした迎賓館。
昭和12年に完成。
ヨーロッパやアジアの各国様式がミックスされた建物です。

入館料300円。
一階、二階、地下階が公開されています。

一階：居間、食堂
二階：書斎、応接室、寝室
地下階：舞踏場、地下トンネル入り口

地下鉄東山線、覚王山駅から、北に徒歩約8分。

Choshokaku

Miwa Shrine (Miwajinja)

Banshoji Temple

境内には、国の重要文化財の建物。
奥には、中国風の建物・源敬公廟（げんけいこうびょう）があります。

Jokoji Temple

From the entrance to the approach, you can climb the stone stairs 165 steps (10 minutes on foot) to the top of the mountain.

定光寺駅から東へ、ずっと坂を登った先にあります。
公園には、正伝池という大きな池があり
弁財天がまつられた、小さなお堂があります。
赤い橋から、お堂へ渡ることもできます。
また公園内北側には、たくさんの石像が並ぶスポットもあり、不思議な空間が広がっています。

Jokoji Park

It is located all the way up the hill from Jokoji Station to the east.
In the park, there is a large pond called Shoden Pond.

JR定光寺駅は、名古屋駅から中央線・普通列車で30分ほどのところにあります。
川と崖に挟まれた、秘境感が漂う駅です。
駅のホームからも、眼下に流れる庄内川・玉野川の景色が楽しめます。
高い場所にホームがあるので、階段での移動は少し怖かったです。

駅の近くには、廃墟となった旅館「千歳楼」や、雰囲気のある橋「城嶺橋」もあり
さらに秘境感を演出しています。

Jokoji Station

JR Jokoji Station is about 30 minutes by regular train on the Chuo Line from Nagoya Station.
It is a station with a feeling of unexplored region, sandwiched between a river and a cliff.

「幻のスフォルツァ騎馬像」は、レオナルド・ダ・ヴィンチの未完の作品・幻の像を、復元したものです。

名古屋のシンボル的な建物のひとつです。
展望フロアからは、名古屋の街並みはもちろん、遠くの山々まで見わたせます。

2020年、久屋大通公園とともにリニューアルされ、銀色の外観そのままに
内装がオシャレになったり、ホテルが入ったりしました。

スカイバルコニーにある「恋人の聖地」プレートも健在で
ハートの形をした、恋人たちのカギが、たくさん見られました。

Nagoya TV Tower
