The next session will be July 8th.
You are all welcome to join us!
On Friday, June 21, 2024, many students got together for the kick-off of “英語でGame with Jeff-sensei” to play their favorite video game and learn game-related English! It was a wonderful opportunity to use English outside the classroom for
real communication.
The next session will be on July 19th.
You don’t need to speak English perfectly to play, you can just have fun!
Why don't you join us?
It’s rice-planting season in eastern Japan.
TUAT students joined a rice-planting festival near Okunitama Shrine.
Participants dressed in traditional costumes planted the seedlings one after another and enjoyed the early-summer Japanese traditional event.
What a great day out!
"Nihongo de Lunch"
We had a great lunch time at Fuchu Global Cafe!
International students positively tried to speak Japanese to communicate with other students.
"Nihongo de Lunch" will be held on every second and fourth Monday of each month.
Next meet-up will be on Monday, June 24.
Why don't you join us to enjoy a special lunch time?
We launched Nihongo de Lunch today; it was organized by a volunteer student group. It aims to create a space and chance for international students to interact in Japanese language outside their lab and classes.
International students tried to speak Japanese regardless of their language fluency in a relaxed atmosphere.
Looking forward to welcoming more international students as well as Japanese students who are interested in an international exchange!
Next meet-up will be on Monday, June 10.
Students enjoyed the monthly “Fritz’s sensei's TeA Room” today.
They enjoyed some tea, and talked with Fritz-sensei and other students in English at Fuchu Global Cafe. An international also joined us, which made the interaction more diverse and active.
The next session will be on Monday, June 24, in collaboration with Tea Ceremony Club members!
Please drop by Fuchu Global Cafe at 10:30am!

TUAT international students participated in a cotton ginning workshop at the TUAT Science Museum. Everyone enjoyed this rare experience. Afterwards, we all had a year-end party. Of course, we sang the TUAT students' theme song, "Tsubasa wo Kudasanai! I wish you all a happy New Year!
The confident research presentations addressed by all AIMS students and the videos show were truly amazing. We are also impressed by the sincerity of the TUAT students who have supported them each other. Wishing all of you fly towards a bright future!
AIMS international students interacted with elementary school students at Meisei Gakuen, located next to TUAT, and introduced their home countries and danced together. Children were so cheerful that they remained in communication with them until the end of the session. Everyone seemed to be interested in foreign countries. We hope that collaboration in the area will continue in the future.
On a clear autumn day, AIMS students went on a field trip by the “Food Chemistry” and “Food and Nutrition” classes. We observed the situation at Toyosu and Tsukiji Market, got caught up in the lively atmosphere outer side. After a Halal food hamburger steak lunch, we learned about the history and characteristics of Japanese meals at the Ajinomoto Food Culture Center. By observing "food" from agricultural, cultural, and habitual perspectives, the international students deepen their understanding of Japan. Special thanks to Professor Miura!
〈Overview of Japan 🇯🇵 〉
International students and their buddy students went to the Kao Museum. They learned about the history of Japan's leading companies and the Japanese people's sense of cleanliness, and thought about the secret behind their development. After studying, had fun exploring Asakusa!
The 2023 AIMS students are enjoying at TUAT! This year, in the Forest Resource and Biomass program, International and Japanese students from three universities in Tama area went on a field trip to the foothills of Mt Fuji.
During the two-day excursion, they experienced the seismic resilience of wooden structures at Ichijo Construction, learned about the craftsmanship of wooden construction by a local English guide at the 'Saruhashi' monkey bridge, which is one of Japan's three great bizarre bridges. They also enjoyed the breathtaking views of Mt Fuji and the five-story pagoda at the Arakurayama Sengen Park, felt the natural environment and forest limit at the 'Okuniwa' of the fifth station of Mt Fuji.
Students savored delicious Japanese cuisine, and experienced hot springs. Most importantly, the international exchange among the students was enjoyable, and the conversations never ceased throughout the night. With this experience, we hope our students will continue to enjoy their life in Japan!
CPP+ (Cotton Plant Project +), a collaborative project between international and Japanese students, will be introduced on a poster at an event at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Museum of Science.

AIMS international students from the Faculty of Agriculture this year have safely arrived in Japan.
In the Forest Resources and Biomass class, students from Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, etc., and students from three Japanese national universities went to the foot of Mt. Fuji for a field trip. During the two-day trip, students learned about forest products and timber engineering as well as wood processing and wooden construction. Also visited a factory of modern log house exhibits and an ancient wooden bridge called “Saruhashi”, a monkey bridge, constructed 1300 years ago. We hiked around the 5th station of Mt. Fuji to observe the natural environment, forest line, and lava traces. We also learned about nature conservation at the Fujisan World Heritage Center.
The fresh air, Japanese food, and beautiful scenery energized everyone, and it was a valuable experience to feel the value of nature.
We hope students enjoy their life in Japan!
On July 29, TUAT international students harvested tomatoes on a hot summer day. This is the "Cotton Plant Project+" (CPP+), an exchange project between international and Japanese students that started in May. The cotton plants given to us by the TUAT science museum have grown and bloomed beautifully.
International students and staff of the TUAT EAGLe enjoyed eating freshly picked tomatoes and basil. They were so delicious!
May peace be with all of you and with the world!
