Hi everyone

I hope we are all doing well. Someone shared this with me on whatsapp. I thought it was creative and very educative.

Peer pressure affects us all, but we tend to think it is only a teenager's issue. For those of us who worry about what others will think, those who compete with others, those who cannot do anything without approval of others, etc. here is a nice clip to watch.

Good day.

Mental Wellness A Priority
Bungoma County was recently classified as an ASAL. 15000 children in Bungoma are currently out of school! 15000! Numbers do not lie. Where are they? Grazing herds, early marriages, entertainment, disco matanga etc. What are the parents doing about it? Bungoma County is well known for food production, what with the fertile land and good rains all year round. With 15000 children out of school how do we industrialized by 2030? What will become of this generation when we exit the scene? What are you doing? What am I doing? What are you handing over to the next generation? We must win this War. As Family Counseling, we are partnering with like minded individuals and institutions to sensitize teachers, parents, children and other stakeholders for a better tomorrow. Today at Kanduyi with teachers and various stake holders in the Ministry of Education courtesy of Save the Children International, building capacity. We must do something. #capacitybuilding# #concernedaboutourchildren# #mentalhealthfirst#

If the mind is not healthy it affects everything. When the mind is OK you have good self esteem, the world is yours for the taking. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..... Today we spoke to the young ones at St Anthony Naburereya School. Your worth is from within not without. #MentalHealthMatters# #mentalwellnessgospel#

Dr Makila on Trauma @ Chwele Girls
Today at Chwele Girls addressing trauma after an ugly incident yesterday. Our girls were fearful, restless which is normal. The mind is trying to cope with the reality of what has happened. Trauma effects Lack of sleep Fear of unknown Anxiety Worry How do you deal with your mind? 1. Know importance of thought life - plant good seeds. Trauma plants negative thoughts. It races to and fro. But check your mind control it so that the devil does not hijack it. Remember events happen only once, try to erase the negative thoughts. 2. Don't believe everything you think. The mind can play tricks on you. Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” The mind has an ability to lie to you. Dr Makila presenting on leadership
Chesamisi High School Prefects Workshop FCPSC was privileged last Sunday afternoon to talk to the student leadership team of Chesamisi High School. It was a very interactive session at the Great Lounge in Kimilili. The students relaxed, and felt refreshed as they were given tips on how to handle leadership as Prefects as well as have a balance in their academics, extra curricular and leadership responsibilities. I take this opportunity to thank the Principal of Chesamisi High School for offering his students such an opportunity. Once the students have a positive mindset shift they can now expect excellence in different areas of their lives. #motivationweekend# #devrlopingpositiveculture# #mindsetshift# #leadershipmatters#
