Meet Mercy Jemutai Kemboi from Chebai , Cherangany/Chebororwo ward, Elgeiyo Marakwet who against all odds ventured into Shoe making a course not mainly attractive to females .
After finishing her O levels in 2019 at St.Cecilia Chepareria ,she decided to persue her passion and dreams by joining Kitany Vocational Training Center(2021-23) to do a SHOE MAKING course.
" I developed a lot of passion in shoe making and this with the help of our tutors and my colleagues,I improved my skills daily,, something that made me so happy," Mercy said with a broad smile lightening her face.
After graduation, she sort Capital which was inadequate to install some materials and the machines ready for the task. Her beloved parents decided to let her use what used to be a kiosk as her station of work to cut off rent expenses. As you can see from the pics,the displayed work is incredible and of quality.
Mercy says that her esteemed customers are mainly locals and she is looking forward to a wider market soon for her customers are her brand ambassadors and marketers.
Mercy urged youths that there is always light at the end of the tunnel,with dedication, perseverance and commitment success will find its way through you.
She further added that she is looking forward to employing youth in future when her business thrives .
