As a community feedback procedure, Today we had a great interaction with youth leaders of the Makonde community in Makongeni , as we were hosted by Makonde Dance group where we reviewed our MUSTAFAH Film with them and discussed more about civil discrimination issues affecting their community,we had an opportunity to document more challenges faced by the Makonde tribe which will hopefully captured in our next episodes.

We would like to thank Human Rights Agenda[HURIA] for supporting us in making the MUSTAFAH Film, and we also thank YADEN East Africa for stepping in to support our first community review meeting, and for being our all time mentors , these two great teams who are big allies driven by the same motivation have given us strength to voice out various issues in our community. This is a big example of multi-stakeholders power in bringing change. We would like to welcome more stakeholders in our work. and together we can Transform our society.

Yesterday 8th of June 2024, we had a wonderful moment at Kwale Prison interacting with the prison staff and inmates,as a organization that is committed to empowering youth in conflict with the law, we discussed a variety of interventions that we'll be applying within the facility in collaboration with the staff and supporting institutions like YADEN East Africa to ensure that we assist the inmates can access empowerment opportunities during their time in the facility and when they have finished their terms.

We established a first ever peace club in the facility that includes artists who'd be given skills on music and film creation, and empowered to use their creative skills as a decent source of income and as a tool to champion for peaceful and security stability and PCVE in their respective communities, This will be a great opportunity for them to reintegrate back to the society.

12th April 2024 was a day to recognize the street community and Youth, I-The-Change Youth Transform Center spent the day strengthening the relationship between Police and youth, we held a Hangout event at Kombani Police Post bringing together youth in conflict with the law, street youth, youth leaders and Police Officers to share their various experiences and misunderstandings that they have both encountered in previous interactions with each other.
'It has been normal for youth to hate police for various unjustified reasons' but this shouldn't be normal anymore, 'It has also been normal for police to assume that most youth who are afraid of them are criminals ' but that isn't supposed to be the case anymore.
In this hangout event, police and the youth spent time together for a clean up exercise, Shared a Meal, and had a successful dialogue on clearing misunderstandings and Strengthening cooperation on fighting Insecurity and Violent Extremism together.

As a community organization committed to strengthening peace and security, and empowering youth who are in conflict with the law, We are taking part in ensuring that Diani Community in Kwale County shall be free from criminal activities.

Due to rise of juvenile criminal gangs in the area that have been reported and witnessed into action on terrorizing citizens and destroying property, our organization is has scheduled community dialogues in all villages of Diani, bringing together vulnerable youth and all relevant stakeholders including parents, teachers, village leaders, religious leaders, non-profit organizations, duty bearers and law enforcers , to discuss the reasons/ vulnerabilities that lead to most youth joining criminal groups.

Our first dialogue forum was conducted on 23rd March 2024 at Mkwakwani Village, We're grateful for the partnership support that we received from DIANI POLICE STATION, Ng-Cdf Msambweni Constituency DIANI AIRPORT and YADEN East Africa in this mission, we hope to get the best permanent solutions that will lead to end Insecurity in Diani .

So Sad! DIANI, KWALE COUNTY is becoming another host zone for juvenile criminal gangs that are terrorizing innocent citizens, we're losing more people recently from these violent attacks, we call upon our law enforcement officers and other relative security actors in the jurisdiction to swiftly respond to this situation before it gets more extreme, we also urge all community members to work closely and cooperate with security officers to share relevant information that will be helpful to neutralize these unlawful acts, we do not wish to experience the same history as it has been in LIKONI and KISAUNI, MOMBASA COUNTY.

Today 1st February 2024, I-The-Change Youth Transform Center In partnership with Magnet Music officially began to train pupils of The New Mkwakwani School in Diani, Kwale County on Modern Dance , Music and theatre skills under our voluntary program dubbed SANAA PAWA, our goal is to ensure that we promote creative skills in schools as a way of offering alternative focus to young people so as to save them from engaging in immoral activities like involving in drug abuse and criminal groups.
