I have pitched my tent here at Shakahola forest, Malindi in Kilifi County where a very sad and shocking story has been hitting the headlines.The homicide detectives have been burning the candle at both ends to unravel the mystery of a controversial cult disguised as a Christian denominaton by the name Good News International Church. The church has been associated with radicalisation of its followers where it is against schooling or seeking medical attention from any hospital. The worst of it is making its followers starve to death so that they can Jesus. The leader of this cult has been identified as Paul Nthenge Mackenzie and has been arrested together with those he has been working closely with and the state has accused him of manipulating the locals through skewed extreme religious teachings and fear of the unknown in pursuit of salvation leading to deaths of many. So far, the toll of the bodies exhumed has risen to 73. Also, 29 people have been rescued and are undergoing treatment at Malindi subcounty hospital.The number of the bodies is expected to rise as the search for more bodies continues.The govt has come under strong criticism from the leaders for its inability to sniff out these activities which have been happening right under their nose. Today, tha DCI boss, Director of Public Prosecutions and Inspector General of police were seen at the scene though belated.I shall be bringing more news on the latest developments as the events continue unfolding.

Police in Kitui Central are searching one Chief who disappeared after being caught stealing Government Donated food.
According to eye witness,this chief was found red handed packing Sucks of beans and rice to a private car from his office.It has been confirmed 12 sucks (7 sucks of beans and 5 sucks of rice)were found on the spot.
