Every time I go back to my village I find myself in the posho mill queueing to get my maize converted into flour for our special delicacy.....🍚🍽️

Apparently I realized that during the process, everyone in the room kept shouting at one another into the ears, while others engaged in sign language for a simple request and we still never got it right........... well, maybe I am alone on this🤷🏼‍♂️...

Praise the Lord!

“Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain.

It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind.

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a *gentle whisper*.........

Well, Elijah was in a similar situation as ours in a noisy environment struggling to hear and know the right voice from God.....some people may as well have wished that God would flash their faces with great light and speak with a heavy voice saying like "Marry so and so!!"🫣 .....

Perhaps, we also struggle or worry about our kids, our health, our work, our life, our friends, our co-workers...etc and miss the still voice of God speaking to us....🤔

It is my prayer today that even as clouds of noise including the current discussions in the country hover around our heads, we would allow the Holy Spirit to enable us identify God's voice with clarity about the next staircase we ought to step upon......see you at the posho mill😂...

WHAT ARE KIDNEY FUNCTION TESTS?

They are a group of tests that help to evaluate the function of kidneys to enable early diagnosis and prevention of worsening of disease.

These tests are urine or blood tests that evaluate how well your kidneys are working to help your doctor check or monitor its function over time.

They are also known as renal function or urea and electrolytes (UECs) tests. Most of these tests measure glomerular filtration rate (GFR) which assesses how efficiently your kidneys clear waste from your system.

Kidneys play several vital roles: filtering waste materials from the blood and expelling them from the body as urine and controlling, they’re also critical to the production of:
• Vitamin D,
• Red Blood Cells and
• hormones that regulate blood pressure, levels of water and various essential minerals in the body.

You may or your doctor can request for the test as part of a general health assessment or there are other underlying conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, as well pre or post-treatment initiation.

SYMPTOMS OF KIDNEY PROBLEMS

Symptoms that may indicate a problem with your kidneys include:
• High blood pressure
• Swelling of the hands and feet due to a build-up of fluids in the body
• Blood in the urine
• Painful urination
• Frequent urges to urinate
• Difficulty beginning urination

A single symptom may not mean something serious. However, when occurring simultaneously, they suggest that your kidneys aren’t working properly, kidney function tests can help determine the reason.

A test can be done in a medical Laboratory to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG); a hormone only found in the body during pregnancy.

There are 2 tests to confirm pregnancy :

1. Blood Test
Checks to see whether any hCG is being produced in the body within a week after conception. If positive, it means pregnancy is present and negative means absence of pregnancy.

2. Clinical urine test
This test detects the (hCG) in your urine within 2 weeks after conception.

Blood tests can detect hCG earlier than urine tests and are usually more expensive than urine/home tests.
