KMTC announces applications for March 2023 intake
Students who want to pursue a career in the medical field can now begin their Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) journey.
The starting of classes for the March 2023 intake will be on 7th March 2023.
“The College is excited to begin receiving applications for the March 2023 intake,” Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch said.
“We are encouraging all prospective students to apply as soon as possible to join the KMTC family. The portal will remain open until all the available slots are dully filled.”
The College is now registered on the Kenya National Qualifications Authority Framework (KNQA), equating its Higher National Diploma qualifications to university bachelor’s degrees.
There has been an increasing demand for College programs over the last few years.
“In the last two intakes alone, we received over 30,000 applications. Of these are students who qualify to join university programs but opt to join us,” Dr. Oluoch reported.
He noted that the Board has taken deliberate efforts to expand training opportunities in an effort to allow more qualified applicants to train at the College.
The College has partnered with various County Governments to establish KMTC Campuses with the number now at 72, spread in 44 of the 47 counties.
In addition, the College has continued to review and develop new curricula in response to emerging and reemerging health challenges.
This, Dr. Oluoch said, is geared towards ensuring that KMTC students have an edge in the job market.
He, however, advised applicants to complete their submission process, upon which they will receive a text message notifying them of the successful receipt of the application.
Students can track their admission application status by visiting their application portal, through username and password.
The College which currently offers 93 courses across 18 departments has two intakes annually, in March and September.

Good news for KCSE candidates as College extends March 2022 admission deadlines
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Wednesday (May 11, 2022) extended its March 2022 admission deadlines.
The extension of application deadlines is in response to the growing number of requests to join the College by candidates who sat for last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary (KCSE).
“We are heeding to the call of Kenyans who missed out in the just-concluded March 2022 intake for one reason or the other,” said Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr. Kelly Oluoch.
“Similarly, we recognize that KCSE results were released a few weeks ago, and it will be prudent for us to allow them the College,” he added.
Candidates who wish to apply can do so via the official website address www.kmtc.ac.ke.
Dr. Oluoch encouraged all interested applicants to enroll for the highlighted courses to take advantage of this rare opportunity.
He further reported that the newly enrolled students will undergo a crash programme to enable them to catch up with their peers who started their studies a couple of weeks ago.
