I was burnt out, but I’m now ready to hustle! 😎🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Yes, naburn out ako sa freelancing 7 months ago. Oo, Malaki ang kita pero umabot sa point na wala nang pahinga yung utak ko.

Unlike job offices where you leave your work after 5 pm, it felt like even though I was eating or sleeping I was still thinking about work. 24/7, my mental load was full, and I felt exhausted.

I was so drained, pero ginagaslight ko ‘yung sarili ko na “okay lang yan malaki naman 'yung kita.” 😅

Until I couldn’t anymore.

5 months ago nagapply ako sa isang full time job sa Makati. I decided to lay low on freelancing. It was fun. It was different from freelancing. You’ll have friends, and after your shift, you get to leave the mental load at the office.

Kahit nakakapagod ang byahe, nakakapahinga naman ‘yung utak ko.

1 month ago, even though I didn’t want to leave the friends I made at the office, I had to. Hindi pala kaya ng katawan ko ‘yung byahe, ‘yung pagod, at ‘yung araw-araw na pasok.

So I decided to leave and choose freelancing again, because honestly ito ‘yung bumubuhay sakin.

In the past few weeks, I attended 10+ meetings and interviews with different clients, hoping to take back the salary I lost from my previous job.

Last week, I closed two clients-- trying to close more. Not only did I take back the salary I lost, but I doubled it! 🥳

Naburn out ako, nagpahinga sa paraang alam ko, at ngayon ready na ako para bumalik ulit sa hustle culture!

Why did I post this? Anong point?

Siguro this is just a reminder that it’s okay to leave a job or a situation kapag nauubos ka na, kahit pa malaki ang benefit nito sa’yo.

At okay din na bumalik ka with a better and fresher perspective, once nakapagpahinga ka na.
