Food security is among the key agendas of H.E Governor Gideon Mung'aro. The county government is determined to harness the agricultural potential of our county to enhance food production in our communities.
To fulfill this promise, I engaged in seedlings distribution exercise in partnership with Kenya Red cross to residents of Garashi ward Magarini sub-county, to ensure we have plenty food supply in our county. Part of our efforts was also provision of tractor services to reduce the burden farmers incur when hiring this services.
This Saturday I had an opportunity to represent H.E Gedion Mung'aro governor kilifi county at majajani village, kauma sub county for the send off of Sunday mwanyanje a class eight candidate of majajani primary and matsangoni village kilifi county for the send off of mercy Tsuma a student of katana ngala secondary school respectively, it's so sad to loose these young souls may might Lord rest these souls in peace. Amen.

The second phase of livestock vaccination against contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) and lumpy skin diseases (L*D), recently launched by the county government under the "Mung'aro wa Kilifi" Agricultural Transformation Plan, kicked off on May 2, 2023. Today the team was in Mikamini, in Bamba ward, Ganze subcounty, where they vaccinated 450 cattle and 600 goats.
The exercise targets Ganze, Magarini, and Kaloleni subcounties, which border neighboring counties. So far, the team has vaccinated 21,672 cattle and 42,216 goats. The second phase of the exercise targets 100,000 cattle and 100,000 goats.
The Department of Agriculture, under the leadership of CECM for Agriculture, Livestock Development, and Blue Economy, Dr. Patterson Chula, and Chief Officer for Livestock Development, Mr. Philip Wario, endeavors to ensure the Governor's manifesto on transformative and sustainable agriculture is fully accomplished.
The county government of kilifi under the leadership of H.E Gideon Mung'aro through the department of agriculture, Livestock development and blue economy is ensuring that there's no more deaths of Livestock is being reported in the county due to change of weather.
The Livestock vaccination campaign is still on and today services had taken to Ganze, Rabai, kilifi north and kilifi south sub counties, where bamba, chasimba, rabai and matsangoni wards Livestock has vaccinated against contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) and lumpy skin disease (L*D).
The kilifi government will provide this services all over the county during and after this campaign period is timed out and the chief officer for livestock development Mr Philip Wario is also working tirelessly to ensure all animals had vaccinated against all preventive diseases.
The kilifi County government vaccination campaign programme is on and today services had taken to jilore ward malindi sub county. More than 120 cows and 710 goats had vaccinated today against contagious caprine pleuropneumonia(CCPP) and lumpy skin disease (L*D). CECM for Agriculture, livestock development and blue economy Hon. Dr. Chula Mwagona is ensuring that animal health is considered keenly prioritised under his watch as head of the department together with his able chief officer livestock development Mr Philip Wario. On fulfillment of governor's manifesto H.E Gideon Mung'aro to his people on livestock production, the county government will provide more vaccines and other essentials services to livestock rearing communities.
Under the Mung'aro wa Kilifi Agricultural Transformation Plan, the Kilifi County Department of Agriculture recently launched the county livestock vaccination campaign against contagious caprine pleuropneumonia (CCPP) and lumpy skin disease (L*D).
Today, the chief officer for livestock development, Mr Philip Wario, led the team of veterinary officers for the livestock vaccination exercise at Ndatani Village, Kayafungo ward, where the team vaccinated a total of 1039 goats and 726 cows.
The exercise is currently running across the whole county, with the other teams in Kaloleni, Magarini, and Malindi sub-counties. The aim is to vaccinate a total of 300,000 livestock within Kilifi County by the end of the exercise.
The Department of Agriculture, under the leadership of CECM for Agriculture, Livestock Development, and Blue Economy, Dr Patterson Chula, and Chief Officer for Livestock Development, Mr Philip Wario, is committed to strengthening veterinary services within Kilifi County for sustainability.
Earlier today, together with governor H.E Gideon Mung'aro qnd and his deputy H.E Flora Chibule meet with national assembly committee of blue economy, water and irrigation led by Hon. David Kangogo Chairperson of the committee. He was accompanied Hon. Dr. Owen Baya Kilifi North Mp, Hon. Amina Mnyazi Mp magarini among other officials.
Today I held a consultative meeting with cassava farmers association kilifi County led by Mr Karisa Fagio chairperson and other executive members at malindi. In fulfillment of governor's manifesto on food security, the county government is going to pilot 50 acres of cassava and provides market of the commodity to farmers doing cassava farming allover the county. Cassava cuttings also will be provided to farmers and ploughing tractors will be available at affordable prices, the cassava processing plant will be soon completed and starts operating to create employment opportunities to kilifians. I was accompanied by madam Jane Kanamu ATC principal and ASDP project coordinator madam Caroline Farah.
Earlier today I visited bamba kalro farm with director of kalro Dr. Elius and center director Dr. Elizabeth. The visit aims to settle down dispute of translocating of bamba sale yard to chapungu from bamba Town. We've agreed with the office of MCA bamba ward to be calm as the county government is working out for permanent solution to dentre into an agreement with kalro to allow construction of modern Livestock sale yard in bamba ward which is within the bamba Town. The government of H.E Mung'aro is putting more effort to ensure Livestock production is embraced and yield more profits to farmers.
Today I had a consultative meeting with Livestock chief officer, director and sub counties Livestock production officers to put more mechanism on improving Livestock production.
Yesterday I paid a visit to mtwapa ATC with blue economy chief officer Mrs. Rahab karisa to check the status of the institution and had a consultative meeting with the management so that we create a conducive learning environment to our training centre.
Today visited ganze milk processor and cooling plant at ganze ward, bamba dairy, wazo jema youth group and gede- shirango in bamba ward. Today's tour was to inspect and identifying gaps of all the milk cooling plant in these wards and put measures that will benefit both the dairy, Livestock farmers and the people of Ganze and kilifi County. Wazo jema youth group processes yoghurt branded bamba yoghurt . I've also been in shirango where encroachment is a big problem between farmers and herders. I've put measures to help all the groups I had visited today and ensure that every farmer is benefiting from there products and provided market for them. I've also agreed with area MCA hon Said moh'd to build a modern market and slaughter house at bamba for Livestock products. For encroachment issues we've agreed with residents of gede- shirango to come up with new policies which will help both parties to stay in peace.
In order to fulfil governor's manifesto am working both day and night to cub hunger issues in our county to places where agriculture can not do well we practice livestock rearing.

Yesterday I had an opportunity to attend jamuhuri day celebrations at juhudi grounds, jaribuni ward, kauma sub county. The ceremony graced by governor H.E Gideon Mung'aro and county commissioner Kutswa Olaka, present were deputy governor H.E Flora Chibule, county Mp Mbeyu Gatrude, fellow CECMs, MCAs led by host MCA Peter Shehe, DCC kauma kegen and other administration leaders.
Today I have flags 🎌 off animals feeds to be delivered to parts of ganze constituency ganze and bamba wards. I was accompanied Ag.chief officer Agriculture. The county government of H.E Mung'aro is putting more effort to Agriculture to ensure animals are not dying on starvation and farmers are not incurring loss.
