MARIMANTI EPILEPTIC YOUNG MAN DROWN IN RIVER THANANTU WHILE CLEANING CLOTHES

A body of a young man has been retrieved in River Thanantu at Mikimani area of Nkondi Ward Tharaka Constituency.

Residents say the man has been epileptic and possibly he fell in the waters while washing clothes in the river.

However according to Gikingo location senior Chief Mucee Mpuria who confirmed the incident, the lad comes from Kithigiri in Marimanti and was visiting relatives when the disaster struck.

Residents accused police of taking too long to arrive at the scene after being notified, saying going forward they should handle such matters with the urgency they deserve.

The lifeless body has since been taken to Marimanti Level 4 hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THARAKA CULTURAL FESTIVAL NKONDI 2RD CHAPTER

Tharaka Cultural Exhibition-Nkondi 2 chapter is set to kick off from 8th to 10th June at Nkondi chief's camp,this time being bigger and better.

However the County government of Tharaka Nithi having announced resumption of Tharaka Annual Ura Gate Cultural festivals in August,Gaaru TV reached out to Nkondi event organizers for more insights on how different the two events are.

According to Paul Kabithi one of the organisers,the Nkondi event is meant to promote cultural groups from the Ward who may not get a chance to participate in the main Ura gate event.

"The Ura gate event accommodates one group in every Ward.Nkondi ward alone having about 15 cultural groups,it means 14 will not get a chance to participate in the event and that is why we want to promote them at local levels," he told Gaaru TV.

On soliciting resources for the event,the organising CBO told Gaaru that mostly they are being supported by Nkondi Ward stake holders through the needful facilities directly and not on cash basis.

"Our financiers are only providing the facilities we need to make the event a success directly.For instance in the case of tents,the willing financier has hired them on his own all they will do is avail them at the venue for the event," another official said.

The CBO members however said they are contributing amongst themselves on the awards they will give to the winning groups, since the whole initiative is non-profit making aimed at empowering Nkondi cultural groups.

Finally the CBO says already they have secured requisite permits from relevant authorities and the participating groups are practicing ready for the event that a good number of political and administrative leaders have continued to confirm attendance.

This will be the second chapter of the event after last year's that was successfully held..

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka says Azimio will push for an open ballot system when voting for the proposed Finance Bill.

Kalonzo says, This will be to show Kenyans members of parliament who are out to push them into poverty.

The Wiper leader says the open voting will also showcase the leaders who are after the will of Kenyans or oppression.

Kalonzo's moves comes after On Tuesday, President William Ruto called on Kenya Kwanza lawmakers to pass the controversial Finance Bill, 2023 in its totality.

The budget will be read on June 15 and will be President Ruto’s first Budget since taking over from former President Uhuru Kenyatta in September last year...

The duo now takes over our two great Secondary Schools, Gaciongo Secondary & Gatunga Boys as Principals. These are renowned Principals and we expect the very best for those 2 schools. We also wish them God's wisdom as they takeover the mantles.Am also happy that our 2 newest Secondary Schools, Gakauni and Shin Yun now have TSC Principals. These schools are picking up very well.

On my part, I have requested CDFC, under Paul Kirema Ngochi, Nthungu Mbuthu, to prioritise the building of classrooms for Rukenya, Nthaara and Kaiga Kamwe Secondary Schools as we continue to develop those upcoming schools. As regards our schools and institutions in Tharaka with issues on management, I am working tirelessly to ensure the problems are solved and they are back on track to sharpen our children education wise.

1. Meru North has been declared a security Operation zone and the government will deal with armed criminals the way it's dealing with bandits in the North Rift.

2. Ordered Immediate deployment of Anti -Stock theft in Meru North as requested by residents.

3.directed the Directorate of Criminal investigations to put in place a special team to probe the shooting and Killing Of Mr. George Kaliunga a former MCA.

4. Ordered security team in Meru North and across the country at large to use all the skills and experience to identify and deal with criminals disturbing citizens and the need to be more pre- emptive rather than reactive in security management.

5. Assured the Family and friends of Mr. George Kaliunga that the killers will be apprehended and prosecuted as it is clearly seen that the killers had planned for his elimination and his death was not accidental.

SUB: MOB INJUSTICE INCIDENT/DEATH OF POLICE OFFICERS. It was reported by Stanley Mwangangi Nyagah of tel number 0725006719 the Assistant Chief Kathanje Sub location that there was a Mob injustice incident at Kathanje shopping centre MR CK 700650 about 10 kms North of the station. The Ocs rushed to the scene and on arrival confirmed that two officers of Kathwana Police Station namely (1) No 246991 PC James Muriethi and (2) No 124881 PC Emmanuel Kiprop had been subjected to mob injustice and fatally injured. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased officers who were on own errands went to the mpesa shop of one Hezekiah Muriithi tel number 0715533689 at about 7 00 pm whereby a disagreement over unknown reasons ensued and he raised alarm attracting a crowd of the members of public who attacked the officers with crude weapons and stones. The shop owner (Hezekiah) suffered an open wound injury on his head and was rushed to Matere mission hospital still undergoing treatment. Bodies with visible injuries moved to Chuka Sub County Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem. Case PUI.

Pastor Ezekiel Odero claimed he prayed for the downfall of a mortuary near his church because the funeral home was operating independently without a hospital.

The man of God said he was not happy with the mortuary because they had turned human death into a booming business.

Ezekiel explained he went with three bottles of his "holy water" and threw them into the compound.

This made the morgue to run into losses and they eventually closed down....

A family from kasarani tharaka south are mourning today after their two daughters lost their lives last night due to what is believed to be a shock from a strong lightening which occurred at around 3pm followed by strong rainfall and thunder ⚡.their mother says both are form 3 secondary students one at St Anthony and the other at karamugi girls..

They spend their nights in one bend in a bricks walled room connected to a copper wire attached to a nearby acacia tree..the wire is believed to have transmitted electrons from the tree to the roof and then to room..

Remains of burnt clothes and mattress have been recovered from the room..the bodies were taken to marimanti morgue for postmortem..

This was Paul McKenzie Nthenge when his church,Good News International in Malindi flourished few years back. He wasn't the shaggy, confused person gracing the screens today. He started this church back in 2003 as a small evangelical centre alongside his wife Joyce Mwikamba.

They then moved to a village called Migingo in Malindi where he set up a church in a walled compound, where his family still lives todate. His wife Joyce helped in preaching as a co-pastor and McKenzie claimed to have power to speak to God DIRECTLY. In his sermons, he claimed to deliver words as given by God himself.

Around 2016, Mckenzie acquired a TV station after one of his followers Kennedy Mwacharo sold his property in Lamu at a throw away price of 20 Million and handed over all the money to him, abandoning his family and responsibilities. The property was valued over 100 Million back then. The man would die two months later in unclear circumstance.

Several cases of people selling their properties and giving McKenzie as they await to meet Jesus would then follow, the recent one being Betty, a air hostess who quit her 11 year job, left her husband and sold her lifelong investments at a throw away price of 7 million, heading with the money to McKenzie's Shakaola church.

Betty is suspected to be among the dead bodies being retrieved in graves in Shakahola.

It is claimed that McKenzie used the money that Kennedy Mwacharo gave him to buy pieces of land in Malindi and Mombasa , two vehicles and started the TV station. Through his TV station, Mckenzie reached so many people and his teachings were basically on end times, evilness of western ways of life like medical services, education, food, sports, music etc.

Mackenzie dwelt on the uselessness of life and stressed on the afterlife. He preached about the second coming of Christ which according to him was so soon - His timeline of the second coming was always less than a year . He also focused on the wrath that awaited those

MUKOTHIMA MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER BEING SHOT BY A POLICE OFFICER ON THE STOMACH

A man from Mukothima is admitted at a Nkubu hospital with a bullet lodged in his stomach after being shot by a police officer last night.

The man said to be a prosecutor in Maua had reportedly fallen out with the officer while in a bar before he attacked the officer with a panga chasing him away.

However the officer would return armed with a gun and since the man had locked himself from inside the bar,the police officer fired two bullets through the metallic door and one bullet got him on the stomach.

Tharaka North security bosses and detectives who combed the scene however declined to issue any statement concerning the incident.
