To all Members ,Githurai Market Traders Sacco.We would like to take opportunity to inform you that the Market officials have received a share of the money pledged to traders by the Deputy President.As you are all aware,the money was 1Million and was supposed to be distributed among the seven markets. Through consultation with all Market leaderships en Senator Issac Mwaura, it was agreed the money will be shared equally.We received our share of Ksh 142,000/.We spent Ksh 2000 for security to the bank and deposited 140,000/ to Githurai Market Traders Sacco account for the benefit of our traders.We will be calling you for a meeting very soon to deliberate how these funds can be used to support our traders.

I the chairman,of Githurai market Traders, Muiganania and Migingo traders, would like to address my committee onthe achievements of our leadership.We were elected on 17/12/2020.We all know that, there was no transparent leadership in our market.We wanted to bring our market to the light of the leaders.
As we took the office,we introduced departments,to cater on issues affecting our traders.We came up with the following department s.
1-Eduacation
2-Security
3-Enviroment
4-social Welfare
Also,we found that,the issue of representation inthe county government,we were neglected nd we wanted to bring our traders into recognition.
DEVELOPMENT
Since our election,we found the on going construction of the New Modern market.After a tight heavy investigation, we found that, our traders names,were not shortlisted.We decided to write a letter to the ministry of trade and by the grace of God,we managed to give our proposal.We were recognized by the administration of the county Government.The sub county Adim,Ruiru county, welcomed us inthe meeting,that negotiated onthe process of allocating the stalls to the traders in the New market.We fought our best,nd we got over 500 stalls.
We had a very serious challenge to our leadership,this is when,the admiration of Kenya Railways, decided to evict,all illegal occupants,who had settled on the reserve area.This affected most of our traders.We had to consult the office of the Governor,Kiambu county.Through the efforts of the Governor,Dr James Nyoro,he was able to reach the president nd informed him on problem s the traders were Facing .Kindly,the president personally, from his office,requested the list of the affected traders.He made a promise of giving Ksh 10000,to each trader,this one was met, together with a package of food stuffs.
From that,we had another challenge from KENHA,they wanted to remove our traders from the road reserve,bt we came into terms.
SECURITY
Our market had a lot of insecurity, traders were paying Ksh 10,every morning,for security,bt their commodities kept disappearing, without proper explanation.We brought some Laws to govern the issues of insecurity.We also had to co- operate with Mwiki police station,for us to act well with lawlessness.Also,we have partnered well with the Ward Adim nd the county governments workers to enhance discipline in our market.
This has brought good working conditions for our traders
Established leadership
We had to come up with other departments to oversee all issues affecting our traders.Ie
Education department.
The purpose of this department in our market,is to oversee that,our traders, benefits from from all the information being delivered by the National Government or the county government.Also to inform them on all information concerning bursaries.
Disputes department
We had a lot of disputes in our market,we wanted to see peace prevails in our market.We tried to achieve this.We have experienced all most two cases per week.We have achieved to bring harmony in the market.
In total,as we close our first year in office,i would like to thank each of the committee member, for the role he/she has played to manifest our brotherly leadership in his/her sector.I fully know that,as we have fully attained good,the same way we have received good enemies.
My office would like to thank all of you,for the support you have in your sectors.
