A little voter education for the coming elections.
1. Carry your original ID/Passport to your polling center
2. After biometric identification using the KIEMS kit, you will be given six ballot papers. White for presidential, green for Member of national assembly, beige for member of county assembly, yellow for senator, purple for county woman member of national assembly and blue for governor
3. Ensure all the ballot papers are stamped at the back
4. You can mark your preferred candidate using a tick ✅or an X❎ or a dot or thumbprint dipped in ink. Put your mark within the box and let it be one mark per each ballot paper
5. Fold your ballot paper vertically in the middle. This helps if there was any extra ink on your mark, it will rub on your preferred candidate's image or symbol. Hence not spoilt.
6. Cast your vote into the right ballot box. White paper goes to the ballot box with white lid. Green paper goes to the ballot box with green lid. Beige paper goes to the ballot box with beige lid. Yellow paper goes to the ballot box with yellow lid. Purple paper goes to the ballot box with purple lid. And blue paper goes to the ballot box with blue lid.
7. If you are not sure which paper goes where, ask the DPO to direct you
8. For those who cannot read and write, it is advisable to bring someone from home to assist. This person must also carry their national ID and must sign a form to that effect. If this voter does not have someone from home, the PO will assist in presence of the agents.
9. After voting, peacefully leave the polling station and go Home and urge those still at home to come and Vote.

To my supporters
Thank you all for your unconditional support. Unfortunately, my candidacy for the upcoming election comes to an end. I appeared before the IEBC TRIBUNAL but the county returning officer gave false testimony which condemned my appeal. I am not pursuaded to appeal further. I entered this race to win. However, I have no chance of winning the upcoming senatorial elections. I will however be more proactively involved in community activities and emerging issues. I have instructed my admins to close down all groups.
I will issue a comprehensive statement or presser in due time including my next step and endorsement if any.

Botswana is one of the richest and sufficient countries in Africa. All because of solid foundation laid by Sir Seretse Khama. When he became president he wanted to make Botswana sufficient. He invested heavily in meat production. Value addition. He removed taxes from animal products. Using his connections he managed to export meat products to European markets.
Sir Seretse Khama believed in using available resources to change his nation. During his tenure Botswana had budget surplus. He invested the surplus in education sector.

Political scientist argue that nations can develop through benchmarking, experimentation and gradualism.

ASAL counties, namely Baringo, Garissa, Isiolo, Mandera, Marsabit, Samburu, Tana River, Turkana, Wajir, Embu, Kajiado, Kilifi, Kitui, Kwale, Laikipia, Lamu, Makueni, Meru, Narok, Nyeri, Taita Taveta, Tharaka Nithi and West Pokot have the capacity to produce meat enough for entire Middle East.
Only if they set their priorities right.
But archaic cultural practices such as Livestock theft remains an obstacle.
If the national and county government can guarantee security, water, pasture and subsidized animal products, Kenya can replicate Sir Seretse Khama economic miracle.

The advantage of benchmarking, experimentation and gradualism from other nations can help Kenya navigate.

It is possible to transform this country within 10 years.

All Kenyans have to do is elect Sir Seretse Khamas of this Kenya.

FOREWORD:
Many voters and aspirants see the Governor or Governorship is the ultimate catch. However, the Senate seat thrust an individual to participate in national and international politics.
We forget without Senate counties will not get any money. Without money governors have no work.
Voters need to elect senators who understand this exceptional function. Senators have only one duty to protect the interest of counties.
Therefore, they must not relent but debate and approve Formula that will derive greatest benefit to counties.
If elected I will support a basic sharing formula that takes into account of poverty levels, rural development and health services.
A senator owes no allegiance to political party or the president but to the voters
If you elect me I'll only be accountable and answerable to you the Voters

INTRODUCTION:
My name is Steve David Kipruto and I am submitting my candidacy for the position of Senate Baringo 2022. I am from Eldama Ravine and Baringo South (Mochongoi) respectively. I am a God-fearing individual. When I am at home I attend Full Gospel Church Eldama Ravine and Kabel respectively. I come from a normal family like many of you.
I am a Lawyer who solves society problems. I have neat performance record with government, law firms, NGOs and research companies. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in governance issues at county, national and international levels.
I am a farmer too.
I have decided to run for Senate because I believe that I can make a difference and usher in change. I love my country and county and therefore I must become the change that I want to see.
I also believe that the current leadership of this great county of Baringo has not met the expectations of the voters. There is need for a fresh blood and ideas.
Let us create our own political machine. A machine that will work for all residents in Baringo. We must change our mindset to become masters of destiny and not victims of fate.
Malcolm X delivered a speech titled "The Ballot or the Bullet” on April 3, 1964, at Cory Methodist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. The rhetoric of this speech applies even today. Brother Malcolm said there is much that can be accomplished if black people voted intelligently and together as a people.
Therefore, I believe that we can walk together; young and old to change this county.

CONSTITUTIONAL DUTIES:
My primary role as your Senator is to protect the interest of the county and the county government by performing three roles which are well-articulated in Article 96.
1. Law making-
a. Passing bills concerning county government
b. Deliberating bills that propose amendment to the constitution though parliament Art. 256
2. Allocation of National Revenue- ensuring that money gets to counties promptly.
3. Impeachment: Speaking the position of the voters
CAMPAIGN AGENDA-SPECIFIC SENATORIAL ROLES:
Campaign slogan is MAKE BARINGO GREAT
1. Promote Quality of life: Descent Living Conditions, Accessible Education, Quality and Affordable Health, Economic Empowerment, Physical and Property Safety, Environmental Sustainability.
2. Reduce wasteful government spending. I.e. shooting down or revising pension laws that give senators pension.
3. Protect interests of the County.
4. Ensure money gets to county government promptly for provision of basic community services.
5. Bring all community together.
6. Exploit and develop natural resources for the benefit of Baringo residents
7. Promote policies that protect the county and country.
8. Accountability for all decisions and votes.
9. Ensure that the County government works for the people

Other roles:
1. Foreign policy: I will assist/contribute in furthering the agenda of the national government.
2. Participate in declarations such as war, deployment or recall of soldiers.
3. Initiate tax reforms that will reduce the cost of living
4. Tame government borrowing appetite and cut spending i.e. shooting down pension laws for legislators, unnecessary foreign trips.
5. Protect the environment and support sustainable development goals

Meaning if you have any form of disability you get employed in private and public sector.

The revelation by senior medical official at Baringo County Refferal Hospital is an example of failed leadership in Baringo County. While other counties are enjoying the fruits of devolution we have turned devolution into a monster (for the poor) and a cashcow (for few connected individuals).

Time and again I have called for Baringo media to paint real picture as is for people to see the incompetents they are posting and shutting down others with. Avail facts for them to make an informed decision.

How can the county government keep on paying for medical equipments without receiving? For 7 years? And if received, fail to install because of space problems. MADNESS!!!

The expose has also badly exposed Chairman Gideon Moi and his dismally performance at the Senate.

County governments must be kept on check for devolution to work.

Imagine allowing your teenage son to roam around without fatherly or motherly counsel.

I have also given a prediction that, in 30 years many counties will become new cities or frontiers.

Others will remain as they are and Baringo risks to be one.

August elections will be between voters who want change and voters with short memory.

Do not limit your options you have 85 days to sieve the chaff.

President Kenyatta and Security Agencies have overseen flagrant violation of Article 43 of the Constitution of Kenya guarantees Kenyans economic and social rights including basic necessities shelter, food and education.
Article 40 mandates the state to protect property rights and eliminate any threats to this right.
Article 26, right to life. And so on.

As a consequence, bandit-ravaged counties have been rendered economically unviable due to weekly bandit attacks.

Residents and communities in bandit-ravaged counties are missing opportunities for economic advancement.

Residents and communities in bandit-ravaged counties are missing opportunities for social advancement. Clans or families no longer live in same locale which in itself is un-African.

School going Children have postponed their future.

The government has failed to restore order, law, peace and normalcy in 12 counties or more.

Bandits in Tana delta are causing mayhem including feeding crocodiles with their victims.

Bandits in Northern Kenya have wiped out clans.

Bandits in Isiolo have killed and maim in Meru.

Bandits in Samburu are in wanton destruction mode.

Bandits in Laikipia have been weaponized and overpower GSU in artillery.

Bandits in Marakwet are executing road-users without asking questions.

Bandits in Baringo are on a killing spree and even graze stolen herds in victim lands.

Bandit-ravaged counties must seriously consider self-defense and self-armament.

Otherwise there is no future!

Dear Baringo Voter (s)
Yesterday in Uhuru's Tribute to President Kibaki, he mentioned something called High Impact Infrastructure.
I hope all of you are aware of the ambitious LAPSSET Corridor.

Now, Baringo is one of the corridors. I have attached evidence.
You must know that Baringo did not feature prominently because of lack strong leaders.

Last year at Sugoi meeting DP Ruto told Kalenjin nation to elect clever leaders not suit or a cloth.

Baringo got a bad deal in LAPSSET project. For example, the project imagines Resort Cities, namely: Isiolo, Mount Kenya, Aberdares, Samburu, Meru National Park.

Why was Baringo not included yet we rank among the top counties with many tourist attraction sites?

LAPSSET will pass through Baringo South, Lake Baringo and Bogoria.

I told you about the illegal creation of conservancies in Baringo.

This is where the ignorance or greed of our leaders is in display.

Creation of private conservancies in Baringo will deny local communities from enjoying the fruits of LAPSSET project.

I know notorious landholders in this country have already purchased thousands of acres or duped locals into entering one-sided lease agreements.

Next election is not about a piece of cloth but future of our county and its people.

You need a leader who will be on your side.
