Recently, I've had several people ask about my weight loss journey. I haven't shared much about it on social media, partly out of embarrassment for how much weight I gained and partly because I knew I'd get criticism for how I lost it.
But today, I'm tossing all that to the wind! I'm not the only one with these struggles, and if my story can help someone, here goes.
What's the Magic Number?
For me, it wasn't about reaching a target weight or losing a specific number of pounds. It was about refusing to go up another pants size. The picture on the left is from April 2023, days before Butch went into the hospital for the last time.
There’s a smile in that picture, but the woman you see wasn’t happy with herself. The scales were tipping, and I was on the verge of buying the next size up in pants. I was miserable inside and remember the day I cried on the bathroom floor because the scale hit 210 lbs.
My mind was flooded with brutal thoughts: "How could I let this happen?" "It's okay, I carry my weight well." "Who am I kidding? I'm a fat slob!" The tears flowed, and the self-doubt grew.
Dieting was a nightmare. I had already convinced myself that I would fail again. I needed help.
After researching and weighing the pros and cons, I decided to seek professional help and started with the Semaglutide injection. After two, maybe three injections, everything went wrong. Butch became critically ill, my focus was solely on him, and I forgot to take the shots consistently.
It wasn't until Butch passed away that I noticed I was losing weight—not because of the shot, but because of sadness, worry, and stress. Around August, I remembered the bottle in the fridge and decided if I was already losing weight, I might as well do it right and get consistent with the shot. So I did.
One year later, I am down 52 pounds, four pants sizes, and two blouse sizes. I’ve been able to fit into clothes I had stashed away for years. I'm so glad several pieces are still in style. LOL
I post this here in the hope of inspiring someone who is struggling. Never let negative self-talk stop you. Instead of listening to it, talk back. It's time for yourself to listen to what you have to say.
So, the journey that started with no magic number now has one. In two months, I will be 55, and my goal is to lose a total of 55 lbs by my 55th birthday.
Stay strong, stay positive, and keep going. You can do this!

It’s Not Fancy, But It’s My Story
I followed my best friend, and that’s how my journey started.
In 2019, I began to take a hard look at my family’s future. While I have always wanted to start my own business, I knew that I had to find something that was right for me and help provide for my family’s needs. So, my search began, and I started researching various direct marketing companies. I even called in the expertise of friends that I had worked with in previous direct sales companies. I had to find the right company with the right vision, right missions, and a compensation plan that would pay me my worth.
I had seen the success that other ladies were having in LimeLife, and I saw and experienced the dramatic results of one of LimeLife’s products. But, I convinced myself that I could never do makeup; I was not a makeup artist. Heck, I did good to get up and slap makeup on every day.
