📌 NTIMARU-KENYA.
Through partners like Wallace Global Fund ,we equip community-based surveillance volunteers with much needed skills to aid in detection and reporting suspected situations ensuring that the right help is provided, in the right place and at the right time to safeguard the rights and dignity of girls and women.
In our commitment towards ensuring the protection and safety of girls and young women in Migori County against FGM/C, we have embarked on activation of community surveillance mechanisms to aid in preventing and reporting suspected cases of FGM during and after December 2024 school holiday with support from our partners as Wallace Global Fund .
Strengthening prevention, reporting and action mechanisms contributes greatly in accelerating efforts towards abandonment of Female Ge***al Mutilation.

We focused on coming up with an accelerated work-plan that will be implemented ahead of december 2024 till January 2025 including heightening and igniting surveillance mechanisms by both stakeholders from Tanzania 🇹🇿 and Kenya 🇰🇪 along the Motemorabu border post.
We were joined by a team from Anti FGM Board-Kenya led by Mr. Nyerere Kutwa - Director of Programmes, Anti-FGM Board Kenya who is in the region for a rapid assessment in Migori County.

✨ DAY 1
Chaired by the Deputy County commissioner for Mabera Sub-county Mr. Mbiso in Migori County, Kenya, conducted a strategic cross border round-table engagement with duty bearers in Motemorabu village in Mabera Sub-county and a fractions of state actors from Kwigenge, Nyamonda and Bitere in Tanzania reflecting on implementation of the FGM laws, coordination, response and prevention of FGM in Kenya and Tanzania this December holiday.
The engagement dived into how to beef up innovative strategies and collaborations between the two countries (Kenya and Tanzania) can be strengthened to address cases of cross boarder FGM along Kenya/Tanzania boarder in Mara region ahead of the suspected December 2024 cutting.

The session focused on trees growing with learners and shared tips on how to safeguard themselves and their peers during the school holiday from FGM and other forms of harmful practices in Kuria, Kenya.

Tunaweza Empowerment Organization (TEO) is offering an opportunity (on voluntary basis for the first six months) in the capacity Human Resources (HR) Management officer to assist in overseeing allaspects of human resources practices and processes. The HR Officer will plan, lead, develop, and coordinate the policies, HR activities for TEO, ensuring legal compliance and implementation alignedwith the organization’s mission, talent strategy and vision. HR Officer Duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, and talent management.
