In our latest edition at Ward Hifadhi ( Hifadhi Hadhi Campaign - Bulapesa Ward), we managed to reach 250 girls who were equipped with dignity kits accompanied by menstrual health management techniques, sexual reproductive health rights, lifeskills, engaged with diverse professionals that they can look up to as mentors our society.

International Day Of The Girl exists to recognize girls' rights and the unique challenges girls face all over the world. It is meant to promote the empowerment of young girls everywhere, while also advocating for the attainment of their basic human rights, like education and bodily autonomy.

Our team, Drop of Dignity of the , celebrated the International Day of the Girl by preserving the dignity of girls and women with visual and hearing impairment. Periods are already difficult for fully abled women, you can imagine how complicated they must be for differently-abled people.

The day was streed by sharing experiences and learning from each other at the same time carrying out our menstrual hygiene and end GBV messages especially to women living with disabilities and creating opportunities for integration and growth for them.

Special thanks to Ms. Mercy Educan who helped us in mobilisation and facilitation of the visually impaired ladies, asante sana. We are very grateful to UNFPA Kenya for availing us with dignity kits packages that will serve our sisters for a long time on issues pertaining to and sanitation.

This week the team were in Constituency, Sericho Ward, Iresa Boru area.

We managed to reach 210 girls from all the 450 households in the center.

We carried our message to Iresa Boru because girls and women in the area are most affected especially after they were hit by after the River burst its banks and displaced them &

'Most girls have not been getting essential supplies such as sanitary towels. A number, in Isiolo, have reportedly been lured into trading sex-for-money to buy pads,, leaving them pregnant or infected with Sexually Transmitted Infections.

Cognizant of these challenges, a group of youths have rolled out a mobilisation campaign to ensure easy access to sanitary towels to ensure the girls “maintain their dignity”.'
