Special Mention to for providing us a home away from home and coupled up with great hospitality. is also the home of Mr. Kancha Sherpa who was in the 1st successful expendition in 1953 with Hillary and Tenzing. It was a great honour to meet Mr Kancha. When in Namche Bazar please use Nirvana home and thank me later βΊοΈ!
The take off! Did you know that Tenzing-Hillary Airport is considered the most dangerous airport. The departures here are not guaranteed and are dependent on good weather π. If the weather persists you have to hire a helicopter π to Kathmandu. The runway is on a hill π€¨. We're lucky we got clear skies on both ways ππ.
Day 17: Closing day π! You know that feeling to well π! After 17 days of walking we finally get to exit the mountain. It has been an awesome experience, never done such a long trek before. On our way down we passed by Monjo(2,835M), Phakding ( 2,610M ) , Ghat (2,365M) and Finally Lukla (2,860M). Was so happy to see the airport π. Got my second hot shower πΏ, so two showers in 17 days not to bad ππππ!! And ordered a steak for dinner π. The Himalayas have been good to us π, till next time! AdiΓ³s Amigo πππ! Namaste π
Day 16: After 11 days of being above 4k Masl and 5.6k Masl! Crazy stuff πββοΈπββοΈ! and on the 16th day of trekking! Sleeping, waking up, walking, sleeping!! Repeat *16!! We finally start our trek down. Today was a long walk, 27kms in almost 8hrs. We left Chukhung (4,730M) and passed by the following towns. Dingboche (4,410M), Chura(4,140M), Pangbuche(3,985M), Debuche(3,820M), Tengboche(3,867M), Sanasa(3,600M) and finally Namche Bazar (3,530M). Finally got to taste Chicken Steak and Yak Steak. Bye! Dal Bhat power, egg fried rice π and mixed fried potatoes πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ! Na Noodles π€
Day 15: As we were conquering the hill. Qui Ivy was on the other end smashing a 6k peak. It was a successful summit and we want to congratulate her for the check in ,in the six thousander Camp. Well done Gal πππ. Imja Tse aka Island peak ( 6,160Masl) well served π¦Ύπ¦Ύπ¦Ύ.
Day 15: Still chasing the High hill's π! Today assignment is to summit Chukhung Ri (5,550 Masl), Quite a hill πββοΈ! It's a very beautiful view point for the peaks around. The highlight was the rewarding views of Makalu (8,463 Masl) other peaks that we well viewed was Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse, Island peak, Baruntse, Amadablam and Taboche peaks. You would spend the whole day here just for the views π. The distance covered was 6kms.
Day 14: Still trekking the Hims! π . Today we hike up the Island peak base camp (5,100 Masl) as we es**rt Qui Ivy on her quest to tick a 6k. As usual the peaks came out to play and welcome us with love, Nuptse, Lhotse and Island peak. Taboche and Amadablam trailed us from the back. Wishing Qui Ivy all the best as she triumphs Island peak ( 6,160Masl).
Day 13: Finally had a hot shower πΏ at Dingboche (4,410M) after 12 days of trekking! Don't get worried you all smell the same albeit ladies who shower and keep clean more oftenly! But boy child ni kajasho π. We head further up to Chukhung (4,730M) as we accompany a team mate conquering a 6k on this trip π¦Ύ. Trip up was scenic with Amadablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Imja tse(Island peak) welcoming us and Taboche trailing us from the back.
Day 12: it was an early day for us as the trekking started at 4:00am, the goal was to summit Kalapather (5,644M) the highest elevation I will be managing to do here at the Himalayas on this visit. We managed a summit in under two hours, the views from up there were amazing. The highlight was now seeing Everest in all it's glory. We were back at the camp had breakfast and started our decent, passing by Lobuche (5,030 M) , Thukla (4,620M) and we arrived at our final destination Dingboche (4,410M) for dinner and also spending the night. We also managed to pass by the memorial site for guys who have passed on during the attempt of Everest and other 8k peaks. It was a long day covering 18kms.
