Your skin is one of the first things other people notice about you, and it is probably one of the first things you notice about yourself every morning. While you've probably heard the saying, beauty is only skin deep - your skin health can have a deeper impact on your emotional and mental wellbeing, as poor skin tone, fine lines and blemishes can dramatically undermine your self-confidence. As they say - when you look good, you feel good.
But - it goes both ways. When you feel good, you look good. It is undeniable that there is a mind-body connection.
Consider how you feel when you work out, meditate or practice gratitude. You likely feel happier, lighter and more at ease, which naturally translates into presenting yourself in a more attractive, confident way.

When you think of rest, what comes to mind first?
I’m guessing a nap, or getting more sleep came up first!
BUT did you know there are SEVEN forms of rest, and you need to make sure you’re giving time to each one. And if you’re not - that could explain why even if you’re sleeping well each night, you still feel exhausted and burnt out.
There different types of rest are: physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, sensory, and creative. Each type of rest has its own characteristics that will present if you have a deficit.

Those with a growth mindset believe intelligence and talent are merely a starting point and that future growth requires hard work and dedication. By contrast, those with a fixed mindset view their intelligence and talent as traits that come naturally to them. They believe they can create their success without effort. As a result, they spend their time proving their intelligence and talent instead of improving and developing themselves.
If you want to support maintaining or nurturing a growth mindset, you can strategically use the word “yet” to encourage continual learning and development.

Something Amelia Earhart once said has always stuck with me. “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is just tenacity.” Did that hit you like a ton of bricks too?
I’ve found that the most successful people in life aren’t necessarily the smartest or the most talented. They’re the most tenacious. They take action and they stick with it. I don’t know about you, but that truth is motivating to me.
It’s ok that I’m not the prettiest or smartest in the room. I can take action and I can work hard. Whether it’s building a business, getting my workouts in, or just trying to stay on top of the laundry, the most important thing is that we act. Can I get an Amen?!

Where do you go to be in your happy place?
Where is your happy place? Where do you go when you need to get away, relax, refocus, get less grumpy (oh wait, just me?)
For me, it’s any body of water... When life gets to be more than I can handle, I know I can go to the beach and I always leave feeling renewed. I’ve spent the week at one of my favorite happy places - the lake! We had to leave it a little bit early because of bad rain - but I wouldn’t trade the time for the world!

Rest is productive! How do you fit rest into your day?
There are 1,440 minutes in a day and you can’t (and shouldn’t be!) productive in all of them. You have to give yourself permission to kick your feet up and listen to your favorite playlist or just close your eyes and unwind for a minute.
Here’s the thing, REST is productive. THINKING is productive, WHITE SPACE is productive
I learned this lesson the hard way when I burnt out from overworking, overthinking, overstressing... Over everythinging. Now, I actually plan for “white space” in my day, a spot in my schedule where I refuse to schedule anything at all. Believe it or not, that white space time is more than just productive, it’s NECESSARY!
