I'd love for you to read "The Power to Rise Above" book which was published in September 2022. This book shows vulnerability and strength by all authors. I'm thankful to have been invited by Sandy Davis, Co-Author and Publisher, of this transformative book. It wasn't easy to publicly share I was a domestic violence survivor and su***de survivor. It took tears and courage because I honor my friend and the many loved ones who have gone before us because of domestic violence incidents and death by su***de. This is my way of sharing Aloha 🌈❤️
Twelve months ago today on World Su***de Prevention Day we launched our project of the heart The Power to Rise Above with powerful foreword by Oprah's favourite guest of all time Dr . Our message has only grown stronger with time. You are enough. You are never alone. Your inner flame will never extinguish, even in your darkest times. We are proof. So proud that we got this inspirational book of powerful stories of rising above across the finish line.

Constantly criticizing the self can increase the release of cortisol in our body and keep us in a prolonged state of stress.
Instead of beating yourself up, I encourage you to approach this week with compassion and self love. Notice how this makes a difference in your attitude and overall state of mind.
What is your favourite way to maintain a positive and encouraging attitude?
I’m currently visiting family to celebrate Eid so for this week, I am resharing older posts of mine that resonated most with you. Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal ♥️

Sometimes our deepest pain connects us to others who have been hurting for a very long time. As we find our way to healing we can reach back and help them. The tears, the fears, the worries, and even the struggle eventually slows down. It involves help and courage to continue from one moment to the next. Then it’s a NEW DAY.
Please read my story and these other courageous women in “The Power to Rise Above book” only available on It’s a loving gift from all of us to you. A reminder that there is hope and healing.
Much love and aloha,

Remember no matter what you have been through personally and professionally you get to choose to LOVE yourself. ♥️💯 For those of us who endured bullying and abuse growing up or even professionally we can feel unworthy and unlovable.
I finally got OPEN professionally later in life age 31 about everything. It wasn’t easy to do, but worth it. It took my big sis encouraging me for sometime before I asked for HELP. Sending a HUG ♥️

I’m truly grateful for this message from Frank Caprio I have watched how kind and discerning has been to people in his courtroom for years. I have cried to see how he genuinely cares for individuals and their families. He has shown grace and mercy. He has impacted both those in his courtroom and even those watching like myself in Hawai’i. Blessings on all he does and his family. ♥️
This message is valuable. ♥️ Watch it 🙏🏾
The little things like creating a floral arrangement for your home can bring joy. It’s these things that help you get through moments in life. Take care of yourself. Add more activities that allow joy into your heart, soul, and mind.
What do you enjoy creating? For some it’s gardening, artwork, writing, cooking l, etc.
Music is helpful in calming your mind and soul. I listen to various genres. I'll be traveling in July to enjoy these bands that I absolutely recommend you find their music on YouTube any music platforms. It's a 2 day event. 2nd day is strictly Hawaii music artists and bands. ❤️

Aloha 🌺 If you are on Kaua’i please screenshot and share. This is an important resource for those dealing with mental illness. The NAMI organization was founded in 1979 in the states.

I discovered NAMI only last week because I seen their event posted on EVENTBRITE. Because of what I have experienced in life I got diagnosed with PTSD in 2006 while my first therapy session. Learning about PTSD and getting specialized help to process the emotional, mental, and psychological pain opened up myself to the healing process. There is NO to seek help and guidance.
I have a family member who recently died by su***de on island back in January 💔 that is so heartbreaking. If we can prevent and support others we love and get for ourselves we can have mental wellness.
Thankful to be here representing Kaua’i. I’m coming as a business owner of Healing with Aloha Waiting for the program to begin. Got a lot of resources that people may find helpful on Kaua’i. I’ll take time to share this week. ♥️

Life is a special journey. We are predestined even if the beginning of our lives weren’t the best. I remember connecting with Noah Humphrey on Instagram during the pandemic. His heart and his faith in his higher power God lead him to serve in special ways unknown. When I met him he was still attending YALE University. I was fortunate to have him as a featured guest on Healing with Aloha podcast via INSTAGRAM LIVE. His interview is on my IG.
I related to his background coming from real life challenges. Odds against you, but the will to do better stronger. I asked to have dinner with him last week when I was with my son. He accepted. He shared with my son what to consider when applying for colleges and universities. He also explained that it’s ok to enjoy your time not to just study. Loved our time. My son learned a lot. Mahalo ♥️ Noah for all the love and wisdom.

This tugged at my heart in a good way. As parents and guardians we get to nurture our children and support their dreams. This acknowledgment was sweet. ♥️

Mental illness is a topic we need to discuss. In 2006, I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder I was able to do EDMR Therapy on Oahu. It truly was helpful for me to process trauma. I endured various forms of abuse early in life and my sister died unexpectedly from a vehicle accident. I’m not “strong” it broke my spirit and heart in 2001. But took me 5 years to seek help. My older sister had to convince me to get therapy. I was pregnant about to give birth in a few months. I shared my personal story in a book in 2022 entitled “The Power to Rise Above,” which was published in Australia by Sandy Davies

I’m thankful I was able to register today to attend the National Alliance on Mental Illness - Hawaii next week Monday, March 25. I discovered it on Eventbrite. I love what they will be discussing. I fly out from Kauai for the day. If you will be attending send me a DM. I’d love to connect at this event.

Everyone has a reason for why they start an idea like my Healing With Aloha Podcast it derived from the loss of my little sister on 9/22/01.
My siblings and I grew up close and our cousins on maternal side became more like siblings. When my sister died unexpectedly from a vehicle accident it changed us all forever. For the longest time I felt success was GETTING out of bed.
Because of my grief and my older sister I sought professional help in October 2006 (while pregnant). I finally dealt with past trauma before my sister died and was diagnosed with PTSD. I got help to process and I’m glad I did. I needed help. ♥️
It’s ok to seek HELP from someone even a professionals. It’s courageous ♥️🙏🏾💯

Sending a lot of love. ♥️ Been taking a much needed break.
Joining me this Friday on the Healing With Aloha podcast at 12:30 PM HST / 8:30 AM AEST is none other than Brenda Kokiai (Brenda Kokiai)! 🙌
Brenda Kokiai went through a civil war at the age of 14. She also lost her two brothers during the war. She later became a single mother with 3 boys under the age of two. She overcame her problems through God’s grace.
Be sure to tune in this Friday and don't forget to show your support. ✨
Love your curls!
As a child, I was surrounded mainly by people with straight hair. I used to want what they had so back in the 80’s, I had my Mom on very low heat to straighten my hair old school way 😂 If you know you know before flat iron.
Taking breaks and relaxing can be beneficial to productivity and overall well-being. It allows the mind and body to rest and recharge, leading to increase focus and creativity when returning to work.
