Batch numbers are usually given after allocation. Once we give you a batch number it means we have initiated the process of payment and you are within budget. However,batches are paid based on several factors.

There are KMTC students who applied for TVET loan/bursary but it was eventually cancelled. We wish to clear the air about this. All KMTC students are supposed to apply for the KMTC loan(not TVET loans). HELB is planning to open applications for KMTC loans in a few weeks time and we therefore call for your patience as we work on it. www.hef.co.ke

We have noticed that around 25% of the new funding model estimated applicants haven't applied for both Helb loan and government scholarship. We have therefore decided to extend the deadline for applications in order to accommodate all eligible students.

Please note that processing of the NFM loans won't be delayed by the extension of application deadline.

Deadline for first time NFM applications is tomorrow,7th Oct.

Endeavor to meet the deadline because there will be no further extension.

Subsequent students who have not been given batch numbers to wait for sometime. Batch numbers are only given when the process of payment has need initiated. Those without batch numbers aren't going to be paid now,maybe in December when we receive more funds.

Those who were allocated Zero amount,chances are 50/50. If we get extra funds then we will be able to pay you.

Those with batch numbers,we are processing your payments.

HELB disburses loans to over 800K university, TVET students The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) on Wednesday commenced the disbursement of tuition loans to more than 175,000 undergraduate students and over 700,000 continuing TVET students under the Old Higher Education Funding Model (OFM).

Students under the Old Funding Model note that the process payment has started for all batches.

Deadline for applications under the New Funding Model(NFM) is on 7th October. Processing of loans under NFM will therefore commence shortly after the deadline.

We have today started disbursement of funds to continuing students and Higher Learning Institutions. Here's a press statement on the payment status.

Are you aware that non-salaried students/unemployed students taking HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA at recognized institutions can access ADVANCED NURSING FUNDING/LOAN of up to Ksh.500,000 at 4% per year? Reach out to us for more information about it.

Those who have not received their batch payments, don't blame us. Please blame your government. We have already used the little we had collected from mature loan recovery to pay some batches. Helb doesn't produce any money. We depend on government financing and as we talk the government hasn't released any money to facilitate you. Just be hopeful.
