Lets talk about Tuberculosis (TB).
It is an infection that usually affects the lungs but can also affect other organs like your brain. It can be treated with antibiotics but can be fatal if not treated.
Today we meet Karwitha a 16 year old Kenyan citizen and a resident of Meru. She is a TB patient and sometimes loses her will power to fight with the disease. Join us today as we send a message to keep her motivated.
Did you Know:
The prevalence of mental disorders, including depression and anxiety disorders, among people with TB is estimated to be between 40% and 70% ?

It's a hard thing to say no to the people we love and care about; especially during the festive season. But at some point, we all must learn how to say no if we want to take care of ourselves and stay mentally healthy.
Can you remember a previous festive season, when you said yes to everything and then ended up not being as enjoyable as you thought? Or maybe, you even ended up regretting it?
Well, this year, soon to be over, make it about your mental sanity.

Day 10 of the . As we start the New Week lets ensure our Work Places are Safe places.
We are calling out for more interventions that include but not limited to psycho-social support for survivors of violence; economic and social empowerment programmes; cash transfers; working with couples to improve communication and relationship skills; and community mobilisation interventions to change unequal gender norms among others.
The government must adapt these and scale them up so that they can be used across the country.

We are Day 9 of the . Have you taken your stand to End Sexual and Gender Based Violence.
Victims of violence also don’t report what’s happening to them. Less than half of women sought assistance from any source to stop the violence they experienced.
There are various reasons why this happens. One is that survivors face increased harm due to the failure of authorities to ensure that they have access to fast protection services, timely medical treatment and financial assistance.

Abuse (both as a child and in adult life) is often the main factor in the development of depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders.
Long term effects may lead to sleep disturbances, self-harm, su***de and attempted su***de, eating disorders and substance misuse.
As a community, many times we look away when this and much more happens. During this year's 16 Days of Activism we are rallying call to take action to make communities safe for men and women to thrive and achieve their full potential.
