To mark the world Aquaculture day Celebrations, The Fisharies directorate team had a successful day in Gatundu where fish farmers together with the residents where given more training on fish farming, the head of directorate Mr. Timothy emphasized on residents to embracing fish farming not only for consumption but also as a business that can generate income and create employment.

The research shows the Improved kianyeji chicken can lay up to 250 eggs per year and have more meat than the local breeds .
The demand for Governor Wamatangi chicken has increased within Kiambu due to Favorability of improved local chicken enterprises, declining land sizes and changing weather patterns in Kiambu, and the high demand for kienyenji eggs and meat in urban areas within the county.Recently the Kiambu County Governor Launched a feeding program in our ECDs in all sub Countries, the beneficiaries will be the Sulplier of the eggs
Today, the County Government of Kiambu received semen and liquid nitrogen from the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource center to be distributed to farmers across in all sub-counties .
This is part of the county's effort to upgrade breeds of dairy cattle and better earnings for farmers in the region.

Kiambu County department of agriculture in partnership with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN )a Swiss based foundation held a 2 days training and sensitization of Sub County Agricultural Officer and Ward Agricultural Officers on Good Agricultural Practices and Food Safety compliance. Gain is implement*Vegetables for All* project that seeks to increase consumption of safe and fresh vegetables in Kiambu alongside Nairobi,Mombasa ,Machakos and Nakuru counties. The Agriculture team will therefore be instrumental in training farmers in vegetable growing and ensuring they adhere to good agricultural practices
