IFL-RUPP MA in TESOL was delighted to have Dr SUM Vichet, an associate professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, as a guest speaker for its second virtual (via Zoom) workshop on Technology & Education.

MA is sharing a 60-minute video segment from the workshop. There are several insights for educators and educational institutions who aspire to bring the integration of technology to the next level. For theme 1, he introduced some learning management systems such as Blackboard and Canvas. For theme 2, he covered relevant theories that could inform educators’ current professional practices. Finally, three dependent variables allow educators and schools to measure the impacts of adoption of technologies.

For Part 2, the concept of “resilient pedagogy” is extremely insightful. He unpacked key elements of such pedagogy, one of which is “academic rigor and integrity”. In other words, educational quality is not going to be compromised; learners are expected to achieve the set standards.

IFL-RUPP MA in TESOL was very pleased to have Dr Chan Virak, the assistant professor at Purdue University, as a guest speaker for its FIRST online (via Zoom) workshop on Technology & Education.

MA is sharing two extracted video segments from the workshop. For Part 1, Dr Chan brough to the 70-plus participants many insights. MA wants to highlight one of them here: The current hardship really pushes educators to get out of the comfort zone of the traditional learning/teaching mode. Along the way, they learn, adapt and be creative.
