카쟈: 한국 청소년 아트 페스티벌 입상작 전시회
카쟈: 한국 청소년 아트 페스티벌은 특정 기업 및 기관의 홍보 목적 미술 대회 참가용 작품을 만들어 제출하는 반쪽짜리 경험이 아니라 청소년들이 예술의 길에 섰을 때 느껴지는 두려움을 이겨내고 연구 대상의 심도 있는 고민을 하여 스스로가 창작의 즐거움을 깨우치는 경험을 드리는 것을 우선적으로 설정하여 본 페스티벌을 기획하고 개최하였습니다.

예술적인 접근이 필요한 주제 설정을 고민하고 다양한 시각에서 평가를 할 수 있는 심사위원분들을 섭외하고자 했으며, 입상한 작품을 대형 갤러리에서 대중에게 소개하고 판매함으로써 작품을 통해 커뮤니케이션을 할 수 있는 입상작 전시회를 기획했습니다.

판매 내용 : 입상작 전시 기간 중 판매를 희망하는 작품에 한하여 판매 진행
판매 금액 : 모든 판매 작품은 일괄 금액으로 책정하며 금액은 아래와 같음
일금 오십만 원 (₩500,000)
※ 일부 판매 수수료를 제외한 금액은 창작자에게 전달

‘2024 카쟈: 한국 청소년 아트 페스티벌’은 순수 예술성과 자주성, 전문성을 드높이는 대한민국 대표 청소년 아트 페스티벌이 되는 것을 목표하고 있으며,

이를 통해서 청소년들이 예술 창작의 경험과 전문성을 미리 체험할 수 있는것 뿐만아니라 스스로 문화적 소양을 고취시키고 글로벌 인재로 거듭날 수 있는 기회의 장이 되는 것을 기대 하고 있습니다.

이번 이벤트를 진행한 에듀조선은 조선일보의 자회사로, 조선일보에서 발행되는 ‘87년 전통의 ’어린이조선일보(舊소년조선일보)‘를 제작하고 있으며, 조선미디어그룹의 다양한 교육 사업을 총괄하고 있는 대한민국 언론사 입니다.

또한 자사 (주)마이슬라이드는 2022년부터 다양한 청소년 미술 대회를 주최 및 주관 했던 청소년 예술 발굴 프로젝트 전문 기업으로 자체 개발한 온라인 미술 대회 운영 솔루션을 활용하여 서울,뉴욕, 벨기에 등 다양한 국가에서 청소년 미술 대회 및 전시회를 성공적으로 개최한 바 있습니다.

에듀조선과 (주)마이슬라이드는 ‘대한민국 청소년들이 스스로 예술적 재능을 느끼고 창작에 대한 흥미를 고취시키는 것’을 목표로 ’2024 미술 시각디자인 YEAR‘ 업무 협약을 체결했습니다.

Space 776 Gallery 는 뉴욕 맨해튼 로어 이스트 사이드에 위치하고 있으며 우수한 현대 미술 컬렉션을 제공했습니다. 라이브 멀티미디어 공연 예술에서 전통 유화에 이르기까지 다양한 매체에서 작업하는 신입 및 중견 예술가를 전시했습니다. 이 갤러리는 볼타 뉴욕, 볼타 바젤, 아트 마이애미, 팜 비치 모던 + 컨템포러리, 아트 부산과 같은 지역 및 국제 아트 페어에 작품을 선보이는 전 세계 예술가들을 수용합니다. 아티스트 겸 감독 이종원은 776년 브루클린 부시윅에 스페이스2013을 오픈했습니다. 2020년에 갤러리는 맨해튼 로어 이스트 사이드의 37-39 Clinton Street에 있는 현재 거주지로 이전했습니다. 스페이스776은 또한 뉴욕 현지 예술가들과 한국 예술권 간의 국제 교류를 촉진한다는 갤러리의 사명에 따라 2020년 대한민국 서울에 로케이션을 오픈했습니다.

본 대회는 MySLide corp. 이 주최하고 GSEF Foundation, Space 776 Gallery (New York), Gordon M. Johnson 뉴저지 상원의원님, Chong Paul Kim 팰리세이즈 파크 시장님이 함께 했습니다. 해당 대회에서 1차 선별된 작품들의 경우 Space 776 Gallery (New York) 에서 진행하는 오프라인 전시회에 참여 기회가 제공되었으며, 본선에서 최종 선발된 ’Winner‘ 5작품 - 미국 뉴저지 상원의원상, ’Gold Medal‘ (5작품) - 팰리세이즈 파크 시장상이 수여되었습니다.

This piece portrays a nighttime-lit city spread across under a somewhat empty-looking eye. The blue color palette sets a somewhat gloomy atmosphere despite the beautifully lit scene underneath spilling out, somewhat like a tear. The painting represents a newcomer in a totally exotic place, in which, through many tears and looking away, they would someday be able to be a part of the beautiful city rather than always having to lie above it separately. The city relentlessly, effortlessly, and constantly changes. Living in this continual rhythm of the city, we ourselves, although slowly, feel change and adaptation every day. While observing the changes our peers and fellow people go through, we experience the change and the adaptation of the exotic day by day.

The 3rd Annual IYAC in New York aims to provide teenagers with an opportunity to express their thoughts through various forms of art and experience the diversity of communication as they grow as integral members of society. The competition is organized by MySLide Corp. in collaboration with GSEF Foundation and Space 776 Gallery. The selected first-round works will be offered an opportunity to exhibit at Space 776 Gallery in New York.

Space 776 Gallery is located at Chelsea, the center of New York, and provides remarkable contemporary art collections. A gallery that showcases emerging and established artists working across a range of mediums, from live multimedia performance art to traditional painting, is being exhibited. This gallery accommodates artists from around the world who present their works at local and international art fairs such as Volta New York, Volta Basel, Art Miami, Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary, and Art Busan.

In life, sometimes we express ourselves, sometimes we don‘t, and sometimes we can’t. It is like keeping your mouth shut even when you have something to say. Gradually, closing my mouth feels more like ‘me’. This work expresses these questions about identity through the image of a face shouting from a huge mouth of a another face. Between these two faces, what is the real ‘me’?
삶 속에서 우리는 때로는 자신을 표현하고, 때로는 그렇지 않을 때도 있고, 때로는 할 수 없을 때도 있습니다. 이는 무엇인가 말하고 싶을 때에도 입을 다물고 있는 것과 같습니다. 점점 더 입을 다물게 되면서 이것이 더 나답게 느껴집니다. 이 작품은 거대한 입에서 고함을 내는 얼굴의 이미지를 통해 자아에 관한 이러한 질문들을 표현합니다. 이 두 얼굴 사이에서, 진정한 ’나‘는 무엇일까요?

“Stranger”은 걸리버 여행기를 모티브로 하여 구상한 제 경험을 담은 그림입니다. 청소년으로서의 제 자신이 살아가며 느끼고 있는 것들을 낯선 세상에 떨어진 걸리버의 경험에 빗대었습니다. 길지는 않은 인생을 지금까지 살아오며 느낀 다른 사람들과 나 자신의 다른 점, 그리고 낯섦을 표현했습니다.
”Stranger“ is a painting inspired by Gulliver’s Travels, depicting my experiences. I likened my experiences as a teenager to Gulliver‘s adventures in a strange world. Throughout my relatively short life, I have expressed the differences between myself and others, as well as the feeling of being a stranger.

〈 Explosion 〉 2021

I started the work by coloring the entire canvas bright yellow. I then drew blue circles that represent the sunlight. I chose a color that does not follow the typical notion of sunlight to give the audience room to independently interpret them. A succession of dots in different sizes indicates the heat delivered from the sun to earth. Purple silhouettes reflect the seed’s infinite potential. I did not specify the kind of plant because the process of identifying oneself is a part of maturing. Geometric planes, including gray areas, are the nutrition from the soil. The black drawing illustrates the weather that provides the water.
캔버스 전체를 밝은 노란색으로 칠한 후, 햇빛을 나타내는 파란 원을 그렸습니다. 전형적인 햇빛의 개념을 따르지 않는 색상을 선택하여 관객이 독립적으로 해석할 여지를 주었습니다. 다양한 크기의 점들이 지구로부터 전달되는 열을 나타냅니다. 보라색 실루엣은 씨앗의 무한한 잠재력을 반영합니다. 어떤 식물인지를 명시하지 않았습니다. 왜냐하면 자아를 확인하는 과정은 성숙의 일부이기 때문입니다. 회색 영역을 포함한 기하학적 평면은 토양으로부터의 영양을 나타냅니다. 검은색 그림은 물을 제공하는 날씨를 보여줍니다.

〈 What‘s stoping us? 〉 Choi Heeseon

Is there a true, perfect standard for beauty? Over the centuries, beauty standards have been modified enormously due to changes in stereotypes within different cultures. Every day people try so hard to fit into the standard of perceived perfection in order to be seen as beautiful and desirable; yet, the standards seem to shift quickly in society, in turn making it nearly impossible for people to catch up with them.

미의 진정한, 완벽한 기준이 있을까요? 여러 세기 동안 미의 기준은 서로 다른 문화 속 스테레오타입의 변화로 인해 엄청나게 변화해 왔습니다. 매일 사람들은 아름다움과 원하는 대로 인식되기 위한 완벽의 기준에 맞추기 위해 애쓰지만, 사회 속에서 기준이 빠르게 변화함에 따라 사람들이 따라가기는 거의 불가능한 것으로 보입니다.

모든 수상작들은 벨기에 소르다 : 앤트워프 문화 재단 에서 운영하고 있는 벨기에의 Love 2 Arts 갤러리에서 전시가 되었으며, 해당 기간 동안 본 공간을 찾는 많은 사람들에게 공개되었습니다. 또한, 수상자들의 동의하에 당선작 판매 활동도 진행했으며, 수익금의 일부는 의미 있게 사용하기 위해 유니세프에 기부금으로 전달되었습니다.
All award-winning works were exhibited at the Love 2 Arts Gallery in Belgium, operated by the Antwerp Cultural Foundation, and were made accessible to many visitors during the exhibition period. Additionally, with the consent of the winners, sales activities for the selected works were conducted, and a portion of the proceeds was donated to UNICEF for meaningful use.

As we move forward in our lives, we leave someone and meet new people. Making new friends is exciting as we expand the connection and create new memories. However, parting is an inevitable factor in our lives, which is difficult. My eighth sustained investigation piece deals with the theme of absence and memories by applying positive and negative shapes.
