[Global Social Innovation Idea competition]

On August 28th, Global Social Innovation Idea Competition was held on Zoom! 40 teams participated and 8 teams reached the final.

In implementation group, winner is team 27. They introduced 'Prism', which is an innovative online platform to provide personalized peer support to LGBTQ+ youth. And runner up is team 29. They designed an affordable energy medical service provider for rural people in Bangladesh. Its name is Safewheel.

Next, in phototyping group, winner is team 10. They introduced 'DEMILAUT', uplifting quality of livelihood & work of artisanal fishermen towards a sustainable precise fishing practice. And runner up is team 8. They proposed recycled eco -friendly building solution. Its name is 'Re-Build'.

Third, in ideation group C, winner is team 23. They designed platform named 'Luto', a story in every dish. Luto collaborates in helping Filipino farmers and small local businesses. And runner up is team 21. Their vision is to create a self-sufficient community through promotion and use of local sustainable resources.

Last, in ideation group D, winner is team 15. They introduced 'Greennovation', stepping towards self reliant economy by promoting green production and increasing employability. And runner up is team 17. Their solution is co-sharing stoving container, extending fruit storage time through food processing while reducing food waste.

[APYE Youth Symposium]

On August 7th, we all met on Zoom!

40 teams and 162 players from 14 countries, 19 nationalities participated in the first preliminaries and 8 teams reached the final.

Congrats on your journey with APYEO!

The 2nd runner up is team 26. They introduced 'ACCESSIWHEELS'. It is a booking platform connecting PWDS to highly trained drivers. Team 24 is the 2nd runner up too. They designed a community-based seaweed farm to build economically strong, sustainable and peaceful coastal communities.

The 1st runner up is team 29. They designed an orderable energy medical service provider for rural people in Bangladesh. Its name is Safewheel.

And the winner is team 27! They introduced 'Prism', which is an innovative online platform to provide personalized peer support to LGBTQ+ youth.

After a three-week development period, GSIIC(Global social innovation idea competition) is going to be held, August 28st on Zoom. See you later!

[2020 APYE Online_HIGH LEVEL FORUM]

We would like to thank all of the guest speakers for their contribution to this High Level Forum. Indeed, COVID-19 has been a great threat to society. However, we must adapt to this new-normal phenomenon and strive to work towards the SDGs.

From August 4th to August 6th, mentorship will be organized for the delegates to develop their unique social innovation ideas.

[APYE Online Pre-session]

For this session, we had Mr. Kesevan and Ms. Tanzi to introduce us to the SDGs and Entrepreneurship!

From the MDGs to SDGs, we were put into breakout groups to discuss on the issues like veganism and gender equality.

For some of us, it was first time knowing about the entrepreneurship. Taking risk is a way of thinking like an entrepreneur! Perhaps, we could brainstorm new business ideas related to the SDGs together!

[2020 APYE Online_ORIENTATION]

It was so exciting to meet you all on Zoom!
We had Mr. Dinh-Long, Ms. Shaan, Ms. Linka and Mr. Kim for the welcoming remarks. Since it was a first meet-up, we had ice-breaking sessions divided into breakout groups, organized by Ms. Clara from UNV Cambodia. Although it was held online, it was great to see delegates from different background mingling together.

It's only just a beginning so far.

We are excited to continue meeting you all at the upcoming pre-session on August 1st, this Saturday. Stay tuned for the sessions about the SDGs and Entrepreneurship!

It has been announced that APYEO will be launched in 2020 due to the continuous proliferation of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide.

What is APYE?
The Asia Pacific Youth Exchange (APYE) empowers youth to address societal challenges and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. The program is held across the region in the Philippines, Thailand, and South Korea - each addressing the tailored needs of their local communities.

Why online?
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 1st Asia Pacific Youth Exchange Online & Global Social Innovation Idea Competition is held online to seek innovative ideas to tackle the issues caused by the COVID-19. The one-week online program aims to support dedicated 40 teams from around the world to lead and implement projects that address community impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

유스체인지메이커스는(Youth Change Makers) 청소년들에게 UN의 지속가능개발목표인 SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals)에 대한 이해를 돕고, 사회문제를 선정하고 솔루션을 도출하는 과정을 경험해볼 수 있도록 하여 SGDs의 취지에 공감하고 문제 해결능력을 향상시켜 체인지메이커로 활동할 수 있도록 하는 사회혁신 인재 양성 프로그램입니다.

- 온라인 워크숍(총 5회) : 2020.07.28. ~ 2020.08.28. 매주 (화) 19:00~21:30
❍ 참여 대상: UN의 지속가능개발목표인 SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals), 국제기구, 지역사회문제에 관심이 많은 고등학생, 해결하고 싶은 지역 사회문제가 있는 고등학생
❍ 프로그램 방식: 멘토 한 명당 3-5명의 멘티 배정(단일학교 3-5명 팀 구성)

한양대 LINC+사업단, ‘덕분에 챌린지’ 동참

한양대학교 LINC+사업단(단장 전병훈)이 9일 ‘덕분에 챌린지’ 캠페인에 참여했다. ‘덕분에 챌린지’는 코로나 19 진료를 위해 혼신의 힘을 다하고 있는 의료진을 격려하는 차원에서 시작된 국민 참여형 캠페인이다.

의료진에 대한 고마움과 존경을 담은 수어를 사진이나 영상으로 표현한 뒤 ‘ #덕분에캠페인’, ‘ #덕분에챌린지’ 등의 해시태그와 함께 사회관계망서비스(SNS)에 게시하는 방식으로 진행된다.

한양대학교 LINC+사업단은 지난 4일 전주대 LINC+사업단(단장 주송)으로부터 지목을 받아 챌린지에 참여하게 되었다.

전병훈 단장은 “코로나 19방역을 위해 밤낮으로 애쓰시는 대한민국 모든 의료진분들의 인류애 실천에 깊이 감사드린다”며 “한양대학교는 정부의 방역지침을 충실히 따르며 전 교직원이 발열체크 등 방역활동에 적극적으로 참여해왔다. 코로나 19가 완전히 끝날 때까지 이와 같은 자체적·체계적인 노력을 지속적으로 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 한양대는 다음 주자로 중앙대학교 LINC+사업단(단장 김원용)과 한국교통대학교 LINC+사업단(단장 전문수)을 지목했다.

따뜻한 마음을 나눠주신 한양인 여러분 고맙습니다!
