If you guessed Mt. Everest, guess again. The tallest mountain actually lies partially submerged in the Pacific Ocean, Mauna Kea. It measures 33,484 ft from the base to its summit above sea. About 14,000 ft emerges from the sea.
Mt. Everest may have the highest altitude above sea level at 29,032 ft but you see it is not the tallest mountain! 😉

It has been a minute since I made little Otto so I was very excited when I got an order for this sea otter pup at my last preorder! 🦦💙
Did you know the sea otter is the only marine mammal that can flip over boulders on the sea floor in search of food? They are also the only marine mammal to catch fish with their paws instead of mouth. Step aside Paw Patrol, there’s a new mighty pup!

Did you know ocean pollution reduces oxygen in the water? It is estimated that about 5 TRILLION pieces of plastic are floating in the world’s oceans. All that plastic disrupts the phytoplankton and algae that produce half of the oxygen that we breathe! All the more reason to reduce, reuse, and recycle. ♻️

When one of my very special customers presented me with the idea of creating a mini fairy for her daughter’s first birthday, I fell in love with the idea! 🤩 Now that she is finally finished I just wanted to share how cute she turned out with you all!
I know I’m known more for my merbabies and sea creatures, but do we think there is room for more tropical fairies in the future? 🏝🧚🏻‍♀️

Pro tip I learned along the way: stop working on the body to make the fins along the way so they blend with the body better instead of waiting until the end like I did on the first one 🫣

Kicking off shark week with a brand new design, the Great Hammerhead Shark! 🦈💙
The Great Hammerhead is easily one of the coolest sharks out there. They are the largest hammerhead species reaching up to 20 feet!

Their size and iconic cephalofoil makes them one of the ocean’s top apex predators hunting sting rays, other sharks, fish and crustaceans.

Sadly, they are listed by the IUCN as Critically Endangered on the Red List. Their large dorsal fin makes them highly sought after for the global shark fin trade.

Hello color! Maybe I am trying to egg on this spring/summer season already or it is all the Easter posts I've been seeing lately but I felt inspired to do something different. 🐙🦭🍭
If you follow my stories you know I made this little seal first for my baby's ocean mobile but I wanted to make two more patterns to accompany him to offer to you all. My thought was to make a pattern bundle for making crib or stroller mobiles or for baby play gyms.
I was actually going to scrap the jellyfish, which was supposed to be a tiny octopus, but when Aran begged me to finish him I kind of loved it? What do you think? Do you love these 3 as a pattern bundle? Let me know your thoughts! 😊

Smudge the snail is ready for testing! I had the idea to make this lovely little snail the night before Valentine's day and finished him overnight as a surprise for my daughter, Aran. Since then I have been working on some improvements before releasing a pattern to you all! Swipe for the first Smudge I made. P.S. my daughter named him which is a surprise as she usually just names things after the animal they are.

What is your favorite look? Raffia or cotton? I think the raffia is such a fun look for summer!

I was already in love with this Scallop Raffia bag when I tested it in cotton yarn but now working with actual raffia it speaks to me even more! 😍😍😍 This bag is giving me all the warm, summer, holiday in the sun vibes! *Pattern Testers*

One of my business goals for 2021 was to start designing and writing my own patterns. I am super excited to announce that my first pattern is in the works and I am looking for some of you lovely makers out there to test my Boho Eyelet Phone Pouch!

You will need a size 6 mm crochet hook and weight #5 yarn. I used Bernat home dec maker yarn but you could substitute with another nylon/cotton/acrylic yarn of equal weight.

I'm so excited to offer my first item in shop for mama! I don't know about you but I prefer to wear dresses all summer long and we know how exciting it is to find a dress with pockets, right? But for those few without, I always struggle to juggle everything my toddler throws at me and my phone in my hands. So I designed this little phone pouch with that in mind. 😊 I hope you all will love it too!

It was actually these very patterns by that inspired me to purchase a doll house to diy for Aran. Every single one of the ten patterns from Harper's Mini Textiles are to die for! I particularly loved the boho floor basket so I had to make two and that teeny moses baby basket! 😍🥰
