Cheers to another great year of Junior Open 🎾🏆💕
This year was a rollercoaster🎢 as we went from being a Covid-free community, to having so many kids waking up with an LFT test on daily basics😞 As a coach I hear a lot of Covid talk and how annoyed my 10 year old students are with the testing, sad that their friend is in isolation or worried about a family member…But today they came together to compete and have fun 🎾And it was so nice to hear them talk about trophies 🏆 rather then Covid💕 As it should be. Tennis is the best sport for social-distancing and I am so glad we are able to safely have the kids participating and enjoying the game even in the tougher times🙏
When coach watches your match it can be a bit intimidating…Especially when coach is Panda 🐼Very strict. 🎾

Straight from the source, court-side coconut 🌴 trees provide shade and refreshing coconut water 💦
Junior Ladder year end players 🎉 🎳🍕After many tennis matches we changed into bowling shoes and had some fun while the winners received goodie bag prizes 🏆 Big thanks to for donating froyo gift cards for our winners! The kids will enjoy a delicious treat for their hard work on the tennis court 🎾🍦😋
Thank you❤️🙏To everyone that came out and supported Tie Break Tens Fundraiser for Noel! Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors, the MC,those that baked cookies, carried heavy tables, called businesses for donations, took photos, bartended, cleaned up and those that gave words of encouragement💕We are still counting the funds raised but it looks like we are at about 40k🙈😍🙌🏼 Together we did it🙌🏼 Thank you to the Cayman tennis 🎾 community for an incredible day! What started as a simple idea to make a difference turned into a massive team of people that care❤️ That is so rewarding to see! We send our best wishes to Coach Noel and wish him the soonest recovery!🙏

Have upstairs neighbors? Your joints don’t agree with jumping workouts? -This workout is for you👆It does not make much noise and good for those that don’t have lots of space! Make it harder by adding weights 🏋🏻♀️
Fun little leg burner 🔥Those are all good stand alone exercises or in a combo with a little music!
If you are a person who hates doing core workouts try these Tik Tok challenges..It takes forever to get it right so turns out to be a great workout! Arms are super sore after this one!
The video is sped up to be less boring so here is the workout breakdown. It should take you about 45min-1 hour to complete. If you want less intensity- do less sets or reduce each set from 1 min to 30 seconds.
1.Jump rope -5 min
2.High knees, jumping jacks, fast feet -1 min each repeat the circuit 3 times
3. Cones footwork 3 sets X 1 minute
4. Cones with shadows- 3 sets X 1 minute
5. Band walks- 3 sets X 1 minute
6. Cone hops- 3 sets X 1 minute
7. Forward & backwards sprints with the racquet and balls 3 sets X 1 minute
8. Shuffle with ball placement 3 sets X 1 minute
9. The touch volleys. Ask a partner to throw the ball to you, they do not need a racquet. Using continental grip gently tap the ball up and volley it back to your partner's hands. Do as many as you like-this one is fun1
10. Reaction drill-catch the ball. This one can be done with or without a bounce before the catch. ask your partner to throw the ball and make it challenging for you to catch!
11. Plank shoulder taps- 3 sets X 1 minute
12. Plank up-downs 3 sets X 1 minute
13. Stretches- do the ones that you like/remember or copy the ones in the video! Take your time with the stretches and push yourself a little bit past your comfort zone.
Pro tip: If you don't have a partner you can use a wall (side of your building.)
Stay fit Cayman:)

Check out a great way to practice your topspin at home-demonstrated by Coach Ilian! Find the full video on page!
Try this fun while you are stuck at home! It is fun and you can do it together with your quarantine buddies. Strong core is very important for a tennis player so use this time to get better and stronger! 💪
Now that we are on soft curfew and can exercise outside...Found that you can do these uphill mini sprints while running away from the wave 🌊 Fun but also hard because the sand is soft and really gets your muscles working! Make sure to use the beach responsibly-stay away from people and make it a quick workout and back to 🌊💪
One of the best cardio activities when you only have a small space available- the good old jump rope! Perfect for keeping in shape during the lockdown. If you don’t have an outdoor space or a jump rope you can do the same jumps with “invisible” rope. 😁💪Stay active guys! Fingers crossed we can get back to beach workouts so soon! 🏝
Lockdown in Cayman day 1...What does a tennis 🎾 coach do...Tennis things! 🤣🧻🎾 Try it guys-hilarious and gets you moving!
Make your own serve doctor- good to work on your service motion swing. Need- a long sock and 2 tennis 🎾 balls- ✔️ You can do this at home-just don’t wreck the ceiling 🤣
Fun coordination challenge-try it at home and let me know how many you got!
Since no tennis and no Junior Open for some time...Try this to stay active! We got this!
Unfortunately we have to cancel the Junior Open on March 15...We all have to do our part to prevent the spread of coronavirus and while we are disappointed that the event has to be cancelled-we are hopeful that Cayman will be back to normal very soon❤️ The next one is scheduled for May 3. We will keep fingers crossed that the situation in the world will improve and that we will see you all on May 3 to celebrate 🎉 🎾
Stay safe🙏
With Love,
