Congratulations to Dr Nathalie El Khoury Juri for her abstract "Des-Ciclesonide: A Novel Selective Glucocorticoid Receptor Modulator With Therapeutic Potential for Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, a Chronic Lung Disease of Prematurity" that was accepted for an oral presentation at ENDO 2024 and received an Outstanding Abstract Award. Dr El Khoury Juri will be presenting on behalf of the DeFranco Lab, University of Pittsburgh, where she had been a post-doctoral associate for the past two years.

Dr El Khoury Juri also received an award at the Great Lakes Nuclear Receptor Conference last October for another abstract and that award granted her a year-long Endocrine Society membership.

A new study suggests that women with both migraine and persistent hot flashes face double the risk of heart disease and triple the risk of stroke compared with women without both symptoms. Managing both conditions is crucial for long-term health. These results are noteworthy because migraine and hot flashes are both so common. It’s estimated that hot flashes effect nearly 80% of women transitioning through menopause.

𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝗮 congratulated Ms Rahme stating "Maya was recently promoted to Clinical Trial Manager in the Calcium Metabolism and Osteoporosis Program, working closely with Dr Ghada El Hajj Fuleihan. She obtained a Bachelors of Nutrition and Dietetics, and a Masters of Clinical Nutrition, prior to joining AUB in 2010, as a Senior Research Assistant.
Among her numerous responsibilities, Maya provides oversight for all activities that help coordinate and implement the research studies. She is in charge of completing and submitting IRB proposals and their progress reports, keeping accurate records for all the studies, coordinating with the Ministry of Public Health, assisting in writing and submitting grant proposals and manuscripts for publications. Her name in fact appears on 22 peer reviewed scientific papers.
Maya brings a tireless commitment with a warm spirit to her role. Her meticulous approach is evident in every aspect of her work. Maya’s leadership style fosters an inclusive and supportive research environment. Her commitment to ethical practices, continuous learning and mentorship, elevates and enriches the entire team".
