We have an interesting story to share from our site 🪨🌿
While excavating to build our stone terraces, we stumbled upon a unique ancient rock that was possibly used for culinary purposes. 🥘🧆📜.
The rock 🪨 features a hole that was likely used to hold food, and a diversion channel possibly designed to direct liquid or small particles towards the hole for easy collection. The channel not only makes the grinding process more efficient but also helps prevent spillage.
Archaeological sites in Lebanon have unearthed a diverse array of food processing tools, such as grinding stones, mortars and pestles, and querns like the Kebbeh stone and others. It is possible that such tools have been used in the region for thousands of years, making it all the more fortunate that we found and preserved one here at our farmhouse! 🪨🏔🍃


لدينا قصة مثيرة للاهتمام لنشاركها معكن . أثناء حفرنا لبناء جلول حجرية، وجدنا صدفة صخرة قديمة فريدة من نوعها كانت مستخدمة على الأرجح لأغراض الطبخ في العصور القديمة. تحتوي الصخرة على فتحة كان من المحتمل استخدامها لوضع الطعام، وقناة تحويل تم تصميمها لتوجيه السوائل أو الجزيئات الصغيرة نحو الفتحة لجمعها بسهولة. هذه القناة ليست فقط تجعل عملية الطحن أكثر كفاءة ولكنها تساعد أيضًا على منع التسرب.

وقد كشفت المواقع الأثرية في لبنان عن مجموعة متنوعة من أدوات معالجة الأطعمة، مثل حجارة الطحن والمداقير والمهاري، والمطحنة اليدوية مثل حجر الكبة وغيرها. ومن الممكن أن تكون مثل هذه الأدوات قد استخدمت في المنطقة لآلاف السنين، مما يجعل من الحظ الوفير أن نجد ونحتفظ بها هنا في مزرعتنا!
