We often restore Class II caries in primary molars with Glass ionomer or Composite restorative material, often overlooking the depth of the caries. As a rule of thumb, whenever you observe Class II caries in a primary molar with a broken-down marginal ridge, always take a radiograph to check if any pulp horns are involved.

Presenting a case of Restoration of primary molar with stainless steel crown.

Patient reported with chief complaint of food lodgement wrt 74. There was history of glass ionomer Restoration with same tooth done by other dentist 6 months back. Buccal cusp of tooth was fractured hence a predictable and sustainable Restoration I.e Preformed stainless steel crown was planned.

Ss crowns for nearly all Primary molars ? But why? 

Presenting a case of 6.5 years old female patient who had multiple carious teeth. Radiographic examination revealed that 65 and 54 had pulp involvement, patient complained with occasional pain on eating with the same. 64, 55, 74 and 75 had deep proximal caries

 84 was involved buccally and occlusally. 

Ss crown are best restorations when considering for multi surface caries, those involving proximal surfaces and post pulp therapy.
Delivering Quality dental treatment for Pediatric patients

Restoring proximal cavities in Primary (Milk teeth) molars can be challenging. Use of flouride releasing material like Compomer-(Twinky star Voco) having advantages of both composites and glass ionomers improves rentention and patient compliance as these are colourful restoration. One of the most promising Restoration for primary molars is Stainless steel crowns.
Placing adjacent crowns can be at times challenging owing to space loss occuring due to caries and continuous mesial drift.
After i switched to job has become pretty easy. I would say as snapping my fingers 🤌
